We had the most perfect night. The food was simply outstanding. In fact the best Chinese food Ive ever had. I cannot recommend this any more.

Delicious authentic Chinese food, great place to go with a group of friends/family so you can order a wide selection of food to share and taste. Would recommend having the 3 meats (roast pork, bbq pork and roast duckand the squid with salted egg yolk. The Singaporean style fried vermicelli noodles and 88 fried rice were also delicious.

Customer service is fine no complaints what so ever.Highly recommend if you enjoy Chinese food. I enjoyed it.

Very disappointed, travelled from out of town, we called ahead that we were going to be 10mins late due to traffic they cancelled our table because they claimed they had another booking an hour later (???so could accomodate our lateness, we ordered takeaway, waited 40mins for the order, our table was empty the whole time, we went and ate at the wharf, bok choy was cooked in burnt oil, meal was luke warm, came back for some takeaway prawn toast for the ride home an our table was still empty. Apart from prawn toast and custard tarts, food was sadly disappointing, and service was poor, if someones travelling from out of town ten mins extra isnt unreasonable to hold a table, clearly you were that busy.

Highly recommended. Cheerful, welcoming staff, great food generously served, reasonably priced and tasty. The atmosphere was warm, friendly and relaxed.

Really enjoyed the meal, we got crispy pork, Wonton, sticky rice, beef rib, custard bun and spring onion pancake. Good value chinese food. Will definitely come back to try more delicious dishes.

O my gosh..There are no Words to describe the amazing flavours of the dishes we had. Everything was fresh and presented with care. But above an beyond were the staff. So friendly and helpful as it was our 1st time there with no clue what we where doing. Sadly they dont deliver to the UK but my folks will be back. Honestly cant rate it enough...Honey BBQ pork a must try!!!

Have come here many times and absolutely love it! The food is incredible and the customer service is so 👌🏼 I was cold and they noticed and made sure to keep me comfortable. Staff are so friendly and polite. Definitely recommend.

Oh my goodness this place has the best food! The staff are so nice as well. This is my favourite Restaurant in Tauranga, probablyin NZ! I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you have not gone here then you should! They also do takeaway, which has a smaller sepreate menu.

We were welcomed in and the menu was explained to us how to order. The food came quickly and all was delicous. Big portions and everything was very tasty. Was Mothers day so very busy but service was excellent.

The pineapple buns, hemp dumplings and fried dough sticks are super delicious.

I am so glad we made a reservation. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. The staff followed the Covid rules in a professional manner. They are friendly and efficient and a pleasure to be around. The restaurant is very clean, bright and airy on a hot summers day. The Yum Cha is freshly prepared, hot and a true foodie experience. We will certainly be back again and happy we have found a good quality Yum Cha again. Even though they were busy, there was a good atmosphere. Makes it worth the one hour drive each way to experience such happiness..thank you

Absolutely fantastic food, cooked to perfection, Ive had plenty of Chinese food but this was the absolute best Ive had in NZ.

Didn’t know what to expected and were actually blown away by the quality food and service. Portions were very good and the taste better than most Chinese restaurants in Auckland. I’d say their standout quality is high in flavour, less on salt, very pleasing meal.

BEST CHICKEN WINGS ON EARTH. it’s prawn paste chicken wing if I’m not wrong and it’s hard to find in NZ. Reminds me of home - Singapore. Yummy Chinese meals too like roasted duck/pork. sweet and sour pork, Yang chow fried rice…

We absolutely LOVE 88! They have ~incredible~ food and service, for both dine-in and takeaway. It is easily our favourite Chinese restaurant. We highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Amazing food, and the service was good too. Only thing I found was the tables were too close to each other, even for non-Covid standards, so definitely not a spaced out seating arrangement as per Covid requirements.But Ill be going back for a takeaway.

If I could give 6 stars I would. Had a brilliant meal here tonight. Very friendly and helpful staff, ensuring we had just the right quantities of just the right food. Our go to in Tauranga for quality Chinese meals. A special favourite for weekend Yum Cha.Fried squid, honey BBQ pork, and Lychee icream being family favourites.Can be very busy so definitely pays to book in advance.The only downside is that parking can be an issue given how popular it is.

Awesome authentic Chinese cuisine. Place was full on a Tuesday. Loved the tea, BBQ pork and duck dishes, as well as their char ho fun. Recommend.

Ordered the Singapore Fried Vermicelli and Fried Noodles in Black Beam Sauce for takeaway. The food was quite authentic in Tauranga area! Both dishes were $20 and were sizeable portions with a good amount of meat. The service was very accomodating and the food was prepared on time.

Foods were great and portion was big. It is perfect for group of people. The staff was nice and one lady was hilarious.They have lots of hidden menu which is not on menu. So you have to ask what other options they have.Also for kids birthday you can get a cute character dumplings as well =)

The best chinese restaurant in Tauranga. I have visited this place for years and everytime I visit Tauranga I go to this place.These guys have relocated to Cameron rd and the restaurant looks really bright, clean and spacious. The quality of their food is just flawless and we really enjoyed our dinner.

Excellent food. Must try the pastry such as egg tart, custard bun and BBQ pork puff.
