Brick-walled wine bar with handcrafted decor, area-sourced nibbles & local beer, plus live music.
Just a delightful experience - the food (cheese & meat board), the drink selection, the ambiance, and the friendly service. A perfect, early fall afternoon.
One of our favorite spots in Asheville! Perfect intimate spot for enjoying a glass of wine with fantastic friendly service! See you soon!
Loved this place! The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable, and there are great seats that look out their windows (nice for a cool September evening). They had a lot of different wines - we were excited to see Slovenian wine on the menu, as well as some from less common areas in Portugal. Keep up the great work!
Super service, super prices, nice design of the bar. The best place in Asheville.
Try the $5/glass wine special, always a tasty pour.
Such a chill place. Lots of different choices and they will let yountry before you buy! And the board really hit the spot!
This is a nice quiet little place that has good appetizers and a pretty good wine or two.
Beer at the wine bar was also great. Ask Linda what is good on tap. This place is good. Has A/C
Friendly service and diverse selection of wines. Going back on Tues for live music.
Absolutely love that place! Its one of my oldest hang outs! Highly recommended!
We wanted a chill little spot to enjoy a glass of wine and start our night and found it at 5 Walnut! The daily deal for the glasses of wine was delicious, and a great price! Highly recommend you stopping in this little spot if not for a glass or two.
A really cute place we came upon while walking downtown Asheville.. our bartender was so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and go back too!!!
Enjoyed the opportunity to sit and drink delicious chilled Rosé in downtown Asheville! We sat on the stools at the window and had a great time chatting with our neighbors. Definitely felt at home visiting a new place! 4 stars instead of 5 because the prices were high, 11 dollars for each glass of wine in the picture.
Glad we found this place exploring Asheville. Great place to relax and have a glass of wine.
Great spot for a chill moment. $5 red and white were top notch, comedy night Monday was entertaining. Worth a pause for a glass or bottle service
Great atmosphere, good Monday wine special. 7pm open mic for comedy. Good times all around.
Probably one of the best step secrets in Asheville. Quaint excellent wine list knowledgeable staff just a quiet getaway and a busy city for a good glass of wine.
Wow!!! What a quaint and cozy spot! We went in Monday night which is stand up comedy night! Highly recommend, extremely funny acts and an overall great vibe. The price is right, entertainment is great, and atmosphere is everything. Highly recommend.
What a great place to have a few glasses of wine with your significant other or a good friend. It’s cozy and not snooty at all. Exactly what you’d hope for in a wine bar. Definitely check them out!
This place is cute as hell and Im so glad I found it. The bartender was delightful and friendly, the pours are generous, the cheese board was surprisingly full for only being $12, and each wine we tried was delicious.
Absolutely adorable spot in downtown Asheville! I love wine and they had so many great options from parts of the world I never even knew were making great wine!
One of my favorite spots in Asheville when we visit. Small wine bar with an awesome vibe, great wine selection, and always full of good people to hang out with. Not too mention they do live music which never disappoints!
Good selection ranging in price from "Oh, is it happy hour?" all the way to "Thats for a glass?" Cute interior with friendly staff. Ill have to go back to make sure my very pleasant evening wasnt a fluke. You know, for science.
Great wine, atmosphere, and vibes! We got to Asheville around 7 and wanted to just kill an hour or two, so we found this little spot, and it was a true delight. The staff was knowledgeable about the drinks on hand and wines. They also had some of the best pimento cheese Ive ever had! It was Soo good I would go back just for the cheese. It seemed that their wines and beers were changed fairly often making it interesting, because you can try new things each and every time. Overall, this was a great great experience!
Casual atmosphere, great for a local beer, glass of wine and appetizers.
I had to stop myself from spending my entire week visiting Asheville here! The wine selection is great, the space is small and beautiful and has bar seating with open windows, the service was fantastic (they let me try a couple before choosing a glass too), snacks were yummy. And they have WiFi and live music most nights!
Wonderful music. Staff was friendly for the amount of time that we were. But I highly disagree with the average rating due to a couple of reasons. Firstly, and not related to the rating at all, it attracts and older demographic. What does affect the rating is mainly the price of a wine glass. Be prepared to spend at least 10$ for just a glass of wine. That is absurd in my opinion. The space is very tight and it is not pleasant having people squeeze by you constantly. I did love the idea of having a water dispenser and glasses next to it for the taking. That keeps the bartenders free to assist with orders. Certainly one of the pricier choices in town.
Popped in for a quick drink while walking around. Prices were very reasonable and the place was very cute. They have big open windows so you can people watch! Wished we had more time to sit and enjoy!
Casual laid back wine and beer place. Small in size but has a modest selection of beers and wines. Had the charcuterie, cheeses were good and went well with the wine. Also had seats in front of a very big window that opened up to the street. Friendly staff.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING JAZZ & WINE LITTLE COZY BAR. EXCELLENT SERVICE, FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE ALL AROUND!
Great music, great atmosphere, and the staff is always friendly. I didnt drink wine tonight, but they had a really good non-alcoholic ginger beer available, plus sparkling water and soda. The wine and beer selection is extensive.
Service is excellent, entertainment is top shelf and clientele are friendly and mostly local. My wife and I have been coming to Asheville for 2 or 3 months for the past 4years and Tuesday and Thursday are our must go nights and remaining nights are great for diverse musicians.
This place is awesome. Just thinking about the vibe in here makes me smile! I love how small it is yet it stays packed! This is a must stop place if your visiting Asheville! They have live music everynight! It has a bit if an older crowd which makes the place even more laid back!
We went for the live music, but got there too early. Beer selection is good. For bites we got pretzel bites with pimento cheese and mustard. The best thing though was the house made salt and pepper chips. My wife and I really enjoyed them. Very friendly staff, gets packed into the evening.
All I can say is wow! If you are out and about in downtown Asheville and you like wine and liveliness definitely stop in! There is a live band every night of different genres, the atmosphere is conducive to fun, and oh yeah...theres good wine too😛
Excellent vibe, wonderful service and one of the best pieces of quiche Ive had in a long time!
Stumbled in here, new to the city. Had a wonderful experience with the bartender, she was very friendly and helpful and recommended the kettle chips with pimento cheese and it was made wonderfully. Will definitely be back!
Great selection of food and wine! Super staff and it is one of the best places to people watch. Just remember to keep your commentary volume below medium cause they are only feet away.
Small, cute place with reasonable prices. We got a cheese board from the shop attached and enjoyed all around. Above all I want to recommend the service staff - they were fantastic when we dined but even better when I forgot my purse there and didnt realize for a bit of time. They were incredibly kind and had already put it somewhere safe for me until I returned. Five stars all day.Ps. Don’t forget to check out the wine specials on the blackboard - great prices!
Great service! There was only one bartender and she was servicing the entire restaurant, which is phenomenal. On top of that, they had a great selection of wines and beer, including some I had never heard of previously. Great ambience. All in all, worth the drop-in.
Came here with friends who were visiting town during their birthday road trip to experience some live music and share a bottle of wine. We were fortunate enough to grab the end of one of the tables on the far wall, with a perfect view of the musical performance. It was an African band with great rhythm! A little loud at times for the small space, but otherwise a great experience. The wine selection was extensive and the service prompt and polite.
We stopped by on a Saturday night after a local recommended it. Great place! $5 wine special. Solid beer selection. Great live music and a really fun atmosphere. It felt like a bar in NYC.
AWESOME!! Lots of fun watching the locals try an date each other 😀 there was guy in there that is clearly in high demand amongst the older flirty girls. Great live music friendly atmosphere and fun!!!! We went two nights we enjoyed it so much
Went there on two different nights; first night saw a solid and home style New Orleans jazz quintet; next night a very contemporary grooving R&B trio. Both awesome. Crowded space but well served by hardworking and friendly hostesses. Great atmosphere with big open windows that invite the passerby to stop on in !
Great lil locals place (if there is such a thing in downtown Avl). Always chill, excellent drink specials, open air bar & music is terrific. Staff is always chill & sincere.
Great wine selection coupled with expert, efficient service and the live music acts are always spot on. Id also suggest getting a locally sourced cheese platter from the cheese bar next door. Pairings for the preferred experience. ;)
Great selection of wines and decent beer selection. Great cozy atmosphere. But very small. Love going for the live jazz music but get there early or you wont find a place to sit or even stand.
They almost always have live music and no cover charge. Often the music starts pretty early which is great for me. Wine and beer only, but a good selection of both. It can get crowded at times, its a small place.
- very cozy, so if there is a band, get there early. partners with the cheese joint next door. good selection of beer, cider, and mead if you have non-wine drinkers. -
First time in Asheville was recommended to go check out this spot for music after dinner & it was great!Super cute spot with music and nice bartenders. They let me sample a few wines :would come back for music again!
