Targ Drzewny 12/14, 80-886 Gdańsk, Poland, Gdansk
This casual hostel is a 7-minute walk from Gdańsk Główny train station, a 6-minute walk from the 16th-century St. Mary's Church and a 4-minute walk from Gdansk Old Town. The colorful, mixed-gender dorms offer free Wi-Fi and shared bathrooms; some have bunk beds and sleep up to 10 guests. Private rooms add en suite facilities and flat-screen TVs.There's a bar, a kitchen, and a common room with 2 TVs, plus a PlayStation, a karaoke machine, a pool table and foosball.
Good location and very cheap but overall not a great stay...
can’t imagine how can people pay for this. All you need for a hotel, they don’t have them. DON’T LIVE HERE. RUN!
the rooms smelled, the other amenities were dirty at best and downright foul at other times. The location is great and so is the price. But dont expect any good stay for that money.
Wifi didnt reach the rooms, everything felt dirty, there were always long lines to get anything from reception, also no plugs in the room for charging
If you are a female solo traveller, do NOT stay here! We left because we did not feel comfortable sharing a dorm with men above 50 only. 3City is cheap and located near the station and the city centre, but that is all positive that can be said. We booked a dorm of 10 bed, which turned out the be 24. The two showers where in the same room, so you dont have any privacy. The beds are dirty. The kitchen cannot be used, as there is no kitchen equipment.
The staff dont understand English, there are lockers but are closed and not available. The toilet were out of service, the showers really dirty, the dryer broken, the door bell broken to. It is a scam as you can see in the photos, taken on July 2022. Avoid this hostel
The rooms felt dirty, the beds were not prepared before we came and there was no clear sign of which bed were ours for use. The showers felt dirty and unhygienic. The toilet had no toilet paper for the whole stay. The lady who worked behind the reception was kind and the location was in walking distance of the city center. Overall, it felt like we were staying at either a homeless shelter or were just given the worst room out of the whole hostel.
The Ukrainian lady in the reception love her work and do it with a 100%, thank you!
Beds are clean. Electrical appliances in kitchen and bathroom broken. Kitchen very worn and also dirty. No toilet paper either
The best hostel I have ever been. Recommend. Little expensive but worth it.
It was nice. I booked through HostelWorld, it was clean and the place was huge and beautiful. I recommend it.
Everything was great except the towel, I thought it had to be free, however it hadnt.
the place os very nice, in a good position and with nice vibes. bedsheets were not the cleanest but it was not a huge problem
Just like a hostel. Beautiful interior. Behind doors are dorm rooms.Cafe bar currently closed but lovely hidden kitchen to use. Always Beware of drunk in food + drink thieves whe staying in hostel ms
The hostel was very nice. The rooms, toilets, and washroom were very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Staff was outstanding and was speaking very good English. The hostel overall is very close to city center where you can go to the famous sights by foot. There is donor shop(halal foodjust close by and also, the grocery shop just down there.
Worst Hostel I stayed for a long time. If I could give 0 stars I would. The bathroom smelled horrible. There was mold everywhere as there is no window. No toilet paper and everything wet and dirty. The rooms smelled as well terrible and all full of old polish mens. No plugs or rarely and plugs in the room. Lockers where destroied. Beds really uncomfy and when you moved the whole bed was moving and sounded. The best thing was the location.
Important stuff (car keys and documentsgot stolen here. We didnt feel safe and wanted to book somewhere else, even though we booked for two nights. We couldnt get back the money for the other night. Bad service
Awful! The toilet smells mold (almost threw up it was so disgusting). There are NO travellers in this hostel. Mostly old local Polish people.Loud & disrespectful guests (will talk, turn on lights and slam doors until 02:00 on a normal Wednesday Night). One man was sleeping in the womens bathroom (drunk). Couldnt use the toilet, had to visit restaurants nearby.Booked 3 nights but left the first night at dawn...... had to check into a $100 hotel in order to sleep. I have stayed in hostels all over the world from Africa to America to Asia and Europe, but this was one of the worst!
Pretty nice place, the staff is super nice, the area is great.. But it still feels dirty sometimes
Nice place and right in the center of the city. I was so lucky (or covid did thatthat in 6 bed room i was alone. There was some problems with paying with Airbnb but everything else is cool. Btw nice view from Windows.
Its called a hostel but it really feels like a hotel with some dorms room thrown in. The facilities are pretty good with an impressive huge kitchen. There is also a tv room and a pool table. If you stay in the dorm its good value.
Not a place where to feel the vibes as a hostel. And some old man and drunk sleeping there and smoking. Facilities are good, but the 14 beds room not enough lockers for all beds and no way to plug your phone cause not enough sockets, special in the upper beds.
Booked a room several weeks in advance just for the staff to say they didnt have the reservation, even though the booking confirmation was on the email I was sent. There are plenty of better options in Gdańsk at this price range, Id recommend elsewhere
This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. It was really clean, was nicely decorated and had plenty of toilets and showers. The large kitchen and dining area was great too.
In a nice location access to most of the attractions. Not so clean. Rooms were bit smelly. Common bathroom for the whole floor which has 2 showers and 2 commodes working
It wasnt the best place but for one night it was okay. One the negative side, it was dirty pretty much everywhere, small rooms, not enough power sockets, not enough sun light either. Plus, there were a lot of teenagers and it was way too noisy! However, the location is really good. 5 mins from the stunning city centre of Gdansk. Also, ATM just next to the hostel. It is really cheap as well! All in all, if you are not planning to stay in bed/room all day,the hostel would do the job.
The location is great and this place looks acceptable from the outside but I would have rather slept on the streer. While the corridors are very nice, the state of the room my girlfriend and I stayed in was terrible (filthy light fixtures, unsafe power outlet, obvious stains of a "biological" origin on the wall). Promised towels were not available and the bathroom was not in a good state. Our door would not lock and we ultimately gave up after three or four trips up and down the stairs. Another guest could not access his room and I am not sure if he was able to get his bag out of his room before day break. I cannot recommend this lodging.
It’s sad, this place has so much potential and could be excellent with only a few changes. The only plus side is how cheap it is for the location. On the down side it’s the dirtiest and most disgusting hostel I’ve seen, and I’ve travelled a lot. Of course, the guests are the cause, but since it’s so dirty, I feel people don’t try and keep it clean. With a bit more deep cleaning, especially of the kitchen, and fans in the dorm rooms, it would be a great find. They could even charge 50% more and it would still be great. It looks so modern inside, it’s just a shame they aren’t keeping it clean. We had booked 3 nights and seriously considered cutting our losses and leaving.
I stayed here for 3 nights. Out of which I rested none. The location was incredibly noise at night. Cars rushing by. Drunk people fighting and signing out loud. Sirens of emergency vehicles in the distance which gradually become a crashing noise on the bleak streets that run next the building as they steadily approach. This all plus the noise of the other guest staying at the hostel; talking well into the night on the halls next to the rooms. The bed very cranky and uncomfortable to sleep on.An aroma of just washed impregnates the place. Which I dont know if its a good sign (as it is cleanor a bad one (as you can not smell anything else but floor soap). The kitchen of the last floor (3rd?), wide, spacy, well illuminated but lacking any tools to truly cook or eat with. So you end up not eating there at all.The toilets are alright, clean and in well shape. The prices are quite cheap and has an excellent location (only for the day, as this being it is most remarkable advantage turns into disadvantage at night).I would recommend for a maximum of two days. But there are better options in the area that could serve as an actual resting place, and not just as a pass through.
Cool hostel ,near railway station ,comfortable rooms and beds.Clean bathroom with shower and sink.Cosy room with soft coach and PS also hear. They have small garden inside .Ideal variant of cheap and comfort hostel.
Its clean, good rooms. Beautiful interior in the corridors, stairs and lobby. Pay attention, water closets situated near showers!)No tea or coffee in the kitchen, its a pity. Really good location!!!
We went for "Deluxe" room. Unfortunately one of the walls inside was made of a thin board with a door inside...Thus, could have clearly heard neighours talking the whole night. Thats not what we were supposed to get for that money. Better watch out. Other things fine.
Almost hostel is comfortable. Free internet access with Wi-fi. There is an old computer with internet access to. Comfortable shower room and toilets. But one situation have been made me upset. I lost my sportshoes here. Somone put them in trash. Administration proposed me look for them in trash boxes in the street. I was thought they are joking but they not. That was spoiled the impression of visiting Gdansk.
Good clean rooms and facilities. Staff was friendly. There was no aircon so if its hot outside its hot in the rooms as well. The room I was staying was above a busy street so it is noisy at night. Overall the location is very good as its very close to the train and bus stations and also to the city centre. You win some, you loose some but its a good value for money.
We came there for a stag party in group of 14. Although mentioning it in on-line booking and also writing e-mail as confirmation to hostel staff, when we came as well receptionist and manager tried to persuade us that firstly booking from hostelwrld made an mistake, but after showing e-mail and booking confirmation (rooms 8+6 paxthey said that "there are no free rooms and we will be spread between others" after 15 min quarrel finaly we recieved separate rooms. Lack of signs - fungus in toilet!
On arrival I got asked to pay for my room even though I already paid online for the room and was forced to show them my credit card statement to prove I paid, this felt strange. I probably got about 3 hours of sleep per night here, it was extremely hot in the room so we had to have the windows open but that meant the busy intersection outside was very loud. The good thing is its very cheap
Cheap, but noisy and very close to train and bus station. Each bunk had its own power and light. Plenty of bathrooms on each floor.
First of all there are only 2 bathrooms and showers per floor. I was placed in a 8 person room with 9 other people. The rooms dont have ANY room to even walk and not enough air to breathe. You basically have to choose between breathing and sleeping. The Hostel is located right next to a big road next to the Central Station and if you want to have some sort of airflow during the night you will hear loads of cars, trams and drunk people. Not to mention the fact that the only window on the room is blocked by a commercial, that during the night is lit up, making it impossible to sleep.
It was the cheapest available hostel in the area when we booked it, and we didnt expect it to be so fancy! The location is great, it is close to the train and the bus stations, and very close to the city center. The rooms and the toilets were very clean. The only inconvenience would be the lack of pans and pots from the kitchen and the fragility of the bunk beds. If the person in the upper bed moves a finger, the one from below will feel it like an earthquake. But, for a short period stay, it is perfect for young people on a budget and I recommend it.
Great location! But I didnt like the the 8bed room didnt have their own bathroom, and sometimes theres no toilet paper in the common bathroom, helpful staff.
The staff was sometimes very ignorant. The hostel accepts not only regular travellers but also working people for a long period of time (there were working people in building industry, I guess). Those workers were extremely loud and drunk on weekends we stayed. They were also annoying, they were yelling a lot and they didnt shut up until they fell asleep. The beds in rooms are very cheap, they make noise at every single move, which was also annoying. Cleanness of place was good, but the sheets were not, I had to exchange my pillow because it was so yellow and old. Once, our door didnt close, and there was no way to lock it because it opens with card only, there was no locker for keys. For almost everything you pay and leave deposit together: 50zl per one locket (though its a big one), 10zl per towel and 20zl deposit, etc.The only advantages are the great location, 24/7 staff and cleanness (mainly in ladys bathroom), also lower rates than in other hostels.
Spontaneously reservation in the evening (Saturdayended up in paying 200 Zloty for the night! Unreasonable high price for just a bed to sleep without a breakfast! They even had the most of the beds unoccupied in my dorm. So its a insolince to require such an amount while others payed less than the half of the price Id payed for.
We took a double room for our three day stay in Danzig. It was a busy weekend with festival in the Centre, so the price had three digits per night.Theyve Installed a huge permanent advertising on the buildings wall and one of the lights was just in front of our window. During the whole night it was like the brightest day light in our room. It wasnt possible to cover the window. The lights also produced a high temperature inside the room when the windows were closed. So we had to open them which is not comfortable when you want to sleep sleeps since the hostel is on the biggest road of Gdansk.I wouldnt sleep here again.
Clean, comfortable, good location. Shared a dorm. Looker big enough to store carry-on suitcase. Communal shower/WC always clean. Only complaint is that walls/doors a bit thin. During my stay there were school children running arround and made noise in the hallway, which made my afternoon nap near impossible. This is not a party hostel so no such problem ar night
For the price it was decent but did not live up to the pictures at all.If you get a room on the third floor you may be disappointed, together with a bad bathroom on that floor. The staff was friendly enough. Not the cleanest hostel that I have been to but it was a "long weekend" and that may have been the reason to it.The hostel was under renovation which hopefully will make it prettier.
Really nice hostel, beds are comfy and everything is quite clean and the rooms are painted in nice colours.Bathrooms were clean aswel, lockable doors on the toilets and glass and curtains for the showers. Its a quiet hostel, never really saw anyone partying or socialising out of their particular travel group/partners.The lounge was nice, and the pool table needs some replacement balls and ques. Wifi was pretty patchy, could be really good at times and unusable at other times. The only thing I really didnt like about this hostel was that it didnt really have a laundry. They had a single washing machine in a bathroom, with no dryer or line to hang your clothes. And the closest laundromat is about 5km away. But hey, this is Poland and I can buy new sets of clothes for the price of a cup of coffee in my home country :DGreat clean, quiet hostel. Great value for money, could use a laundry dryer. 8/10 would reccomend
Hello everyone, this hotel is okay as hostel. No air due to a stupid banner covering the window.BUT BEWARE TO STAY HERE! Especially with children!Manager is acting like a criminal and terrorising his clients bz engaging in illegal blackmailing as soon as you break something! Here is the story:My cousin was on a school trip with a class. Due to the "most clever" idea one have ever seen: Covering the windows with a giant advertising banner, she felt bad, had nausea and could not breathe . She decided to cut the small part of that banner (see photoin order to get some air. She, and her parents, and we, totally acknowledge our fault and we wanted to pay for the repair. What a hotel manager did:-He had taken her passport into his safe in his cabinet-He took the girl to police twice-He was blackmailing us (see photoby asking for 4000 Euros for the whole banner (a little research gave us an idea that the whole new poster would not cost him more than 200 Euros.or he would not give the passport back and would "inform border guards"-After we had contacted the consulate, the consular misson (!had explained the manager the situation (!!three times (!!!), the guy gave my cousin her passport back but was hindering her and her school group from entering the bus back.-The guy was very angry and polite on the phone and was assuring us "He would have to arrest the girl so she has to stay in polish jail.-In the end, after the consular mission had explained that the manager has to go to court and ask for money through the court, "the price" has dropped to 1200 Euros,These circumstances will be shortly filed against the manager, especially of taking the girl as a hostage. So other than that: stupid banner covering the wonderful view of Gdansk.TOTAL NO GO!
So, Ive been staying at 3city hostel for 3 nights in a double bed room. I arrived to the hostel pretty late, received the key to my room, got in and the room was unprepared. I complained and got another room with bathroom inside. I could say that was pretty fair, because I paid for a room with share bathroom and got a room with bathroom this time, still, for the same price. Unfortunately my new room had an extra door, I thought that is an additional wardrobe or something until next day when someone got into my room through that magic door. That shows that the door was not closed and that someone could get in my room while me being outside. Additionally, in the last night of my stay, at 4 oclock in the morning a guy started to play a music so loud that we couldnt sleep. I didnt say anything as I thought that every one deserved a bit of freedom during their holiday. I got annoyed after breakfast, as I thought that my neighbour will go out to see Gdansk, but he didnt. He played the music even louder and didnt bothered to open a door and talk to me. After few minutes of knocking of his main door, suddenly when I gave up, I found him standing in my room. He got into my room through the same additional door. He was aggressive. I reported everything to the receptionist, she even didnt bother to say goodbye at my leaving time. Very unprofessional. Just one star for the fact that the hostel is in town centre, breakfast not bad either.
One of the best hostels I have ever stayed. Reasonible price with quite a good breakfast. Also staff is very friendly and always willing to help you.
This is by far one of the best hostels ive stayed in.Really cheap.Really friendly staff.Amazing rooms.Brilliant location to city centre and train station (210 bus goes to the airport).and not to mention the free food :strongly recommended.
