34 Grosvenor Square, S Audley St, Mayfair, London W1K 2HD, Tidjikja
British game and world meats cooked on an imported Argentinian grill in art deco-inspired brasserie.
One of the best everCannot fault anything
Fairly good steak but a cover charge levied according to staff for service types and bread and butter and cutlery??One would think this was in the food price . Mediocre service from untrained staff who would talk over you in the belief it was ok ??Also a rather hefty service charge added for relatively lousy service….
Lovely brunch at 34 Mayfair. Kind welcome and very reasonnable brunch items in a lovely setting. Kids brunch menu too.Complimentary bread basket is a nice touch. We went for the ribs and the salmon benedict eggs. Good choice.
I tend to visit 34 quite often, however, my last dining experience was absolutely awful. I had a booking for 7.30 pm and I had called the restaurant prior to that to see whether they could move my reservation for a bit later. The lady immediately said no to me, Im sure she didnt check but whatever. When we arrived at the restaurant on time, our table wasnt ready so we waited at the bar for 30 minutes. That was still ok.However, the entire dinner service was atrocious. We had to wait about 40 minutes between our starters and our mains. And we had ordered steaks. When these arrived I asked the waiter which one is which as we ordered them cooked differently. He had no clue and he was trying to guess. They were cooked wrongly, both of them. I genuinely have no patience to teach the people on how they need to serve their customers. Our sauces were also wrong so I asked for the correct one and of course they forgot to bring it. I asked for the service charge to be removed which it was however a cover charge appeared on the bill. Why? Because we sat at the bar 30 mins because our table wasnt ready??
What does disappointing mean? Well for me it is a visit to 34 Mayfair. The utilisation of such words like, inferior, mediocre, second rate, feeble, below par and sub standard don’t really tell all.I took my beautiful girlfriend to 34 for her birthday last night and the experience was poor from start to finish.First impressions tell everything and I should have known when walking up the steps that the sour and silent concierges’ welcome was going to be the representation of the night ahead.Standing at the front desk, awaiting anyones acknowledgment was the second impression I came across. Rushed to our table from the bar (which we specifically requested to have 1 drink at before our mealand hastily told about 2 daily specials. Our starters came out very quickly, which was alarming (pre prepared, just like Woolworths used to do with their breakfasts in the late 90’s?), only to watch them be sent to the table behind us. The poor scrimps and scallops sat on the table thinking they had done something wrong to upset their new owners as no one wanted to eat them. They then found solace with our table after 5 minutes with their adopted owners. That’s right our food went to another table and then made the journey to us. 34 Mayfair thought this was acceptable to do until I pointed out the life experiences our disheartened starters. After continually pointing out the shortfall, the team member took the plates back to the kitchen, to return with 2 new starters……were they new? At no point did a manager come and appease our concerns (even when they knew this had happened? I found this out at the end of the night talking to the duty manager). Our mains then arrived, literally as soon as our starter plates were removed. The BBQ chicken was tough and tepid. The steak had more sinew than Spider-Man’s web and the peppercorn sauce was as translucent as Casper the ghost. The garlic butter spinach was missing the garlic, butter and any type of seasoning. The broccoli was as hard as Arnold schwarzeneggers’ biceps and again missed any sort of Sally or Percy? Oh but it did have raw chilli slapped over the top just to keep us on our toes.Suffice to say, I was done and my girlfriends special birthday was done.I explained about the entire experience to the duty manager (away from all other guests), I explained I was willing to pay for our drinks but not the food. We were then presented with a bill that included service charge! I paid and left, however it did then take another awkward 5 minute wait at the host station to obtain anyones attention to get back our coats. To say my girlfriend was upset was an understatement and I have 34 Mayfair to thank for this.Sadly for 34 Mayfair - “Perception was Reality”, would I return? I will let you be the judge of that.
Very bad experience. The service was very slow. In fact we had to remind them to take our order after half an hour of sitting. Later we waited so long for the food. My daughter ordered ribeye medium rare and was served with a steak which was burnt from outside and tasted like charcoal. This restaurant is far from justifying the prices.
Good restaurant, noisy atmosphere with excellent service. Steak was average. Cheesecake was good.
I absolutely love the location and the restaurant presentation. They definitely take care of all details from start to end during the entire experience there. I went there for lunch, and Ive been welcoming by the host, who was also very friendly. We were four people, and we went first to the bar area and, after a drink at our table, were guided by a staff member. Anyway, excellent service, the food was incredibly delicious and nice looking composition. During the time at the table, we were served by a friendly waitress that gave us several recommendations about the food and details about the recipe.I def recommend this place, and I will probably go back.
The food, the ambience! The music! I really enjoyed eating at this place. Food was delicious, service was a little bit slow, but this was due to how busy it was! I loved the experience of being there and would go there again for sure!
Nice , semi fancy restaurant ( the bill was a little bit night comparing to the amount of served food )I like when they turn the light off and keep a little ,Mac and cheese loopester was epic ! Definitely you should try itCesar salad was nothing but great , the taste of grilled chicken and the bread was amazingI ordered also Japanese wagyou but didn’t like the tasteOne thing I disliked , noise from crowdedness and the smell of closed placeWe came at 9 pm and was lucky to get in with out booking
We were a group of six, the welcome at the door was good. I particularly enjoyed my heritage fillet but the portions were really tiny and the restaurant was very busy.Note: they do include a service charge. They included a service charge of £60 on a bill of £459 but we declined to pay because it’s discretionary and I don’t think it’s fair. I would rather pay a tip than be forced to pay a hidden service charge not explained to you beforehand but overall a good place. The guy who served us was good. Sorry, didn’t take any pictures of the food because the busyness of the restaurant can distract you .
It was my first time at 34 Mayfair and it was enjoyable. It has a very welcoming outside terrace but weve opted for the inside. I would say it is an excellent place for a business meeting but I would choose something else for more private, intimate occasions. The reason is that all tables for 2 were too close to each other for my liking (unless you want to feel like in Paris while in London).Ive decided to be more adventurous than steak and ordered sweetcorn soup, 34 Lobster mac n cheese and 34 doughnuts for dessert.Their sweetcorn soup was to die for. My favourite dish out of the whole meal. My main was very cheese (obviouslyand I couldnt finish it. But it had a lot of lobster (so one didnt need to look for it with a microscope). Another favourite was dessert. Fresh, warm, covered in sugar and cinnamon doughnuts (4 in total with 3 sauces on the side). I destroyed them without taking any pictures.I dont drink alcohol so virgin passion fruit mojito and pina colada were my choices. Unfortunately, I had to send pina colada back as I didnt like its grainy consistency. But if you would like to have a drink their sommelier can help with the best pairing.
Just wow. The food was fantastic. Best risotto I ever had and the tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection. Im only giving a 4 stars because I think the wine was overpriced
34 Mayfair is a first class restaurant in an exclusive location. It looked after our daughters small wedding party of 33 upstairs in the Emin room. Everybody was very impressed and we all had a great time. The food and overall service was excellent. Kevin Hecksher the general manager was very helpful and pleasant to deal with in all aspects of the event.
The venue is wonderful for a Sunday brunch and all the little details about the seasonal decor are just beautiful.Service was great and very friendly and the food was nice too even though I’d say it’s on the pricey end for what it is (but then you partly pay for the location as well). Can highly recommend the doughnuts for desert! We had two cocktails which both tasted amazing and were really refreshing. Downside for me was definitely that it gets really busy during lunch (obviously not a surprisebut we had a table near the door and in front of the kitchen and with staff walking around there’s a lot of hustle and bustle.Overall it’s definitely a lovely place and I’d go again.
Poor service. Waiters got the tea order wrong three times; tea-cups were dirty, had to ask for replacement. The side order was wrong too, chips instead of mashed potatoes. Weren’t offered any compensation for the mistakes. Anyhow, food tasted good.
Great venue for brunch, certainly very busy with the hustle and bustle of a big team of staff. 34 Donuts are thoroughly recommended!
The Argentina rib eye, Korean bbq chicken and the grilled prawns were perfect, the caesar salad a bit creamy don’t recommend. Service and staff hospitality beyond exceptional 👍🏼
We had a fantastic three course steak dinner, probably one of the best in London. Was pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Well be back for our next birthday celebration!Update: returned as we felt like a steak dinner. Food is still amazing but service needs to improve. Just falling short on multiple areas like being asked the same questions by 2 different servers, our dessert served to another table then served to us, being told we had to rush dessert as table has been allocated to another seating, etc.
Excellent dishes and cocktails. The service also very kind.
try their Beef Burger 🍔 so goodservice was too slowstaff are rude
It was a real pleasure to dine here, the staff were most welcoming, even though I had no reservation. Despite the fact I was alone, the ever-attentive and tactful service meant that I felt I was among special and caring friends. The food was tasty and the wine list was most impressive. I very much look forward to repeating the experience. Best wishes from a very happy guest from Poland.
I have been there several times. Prices have definitely gone up. I was in a group of 6. Steak seemed smaller and my lamb was a bit too salty. The service remains very good with attentive staff.
The first comment is their lack of commitment to deadlines! If the policy of the restaurant is to book an appointment before arrival, why when a customer arrives on time, why wait because another customer has not finished! What if it was the other way around?! " No comment"
Very nice restaurant. A great place for steak’s lover
Rib eye and fillets were very good. There arent many options on the menu tough.Service was not good,we got our table 20 minutes late and the dessert never came.I thought they were going to remove the service charge but they didnt.
A beautiful setting in the heart of Mayfair. The staff were amazing, attentive and polite. Delicious food that was impeccably presented and good sized portions. We were in the private dining room for a function. Highly recommended, a fantastic evening!
We enjoyed our meal at Mayfair 34 very much and the service was on tip top form. The restaurant is well designed and the environment comfortable and classy with a live band playing jazz. The slight let down was the flavour of our rib eye which was slightly bland and over cooked so we couldn’t finish that. The other dishes were well executed. Please see photos.
Went there on a Sunday night with a reservation in place, ordered some food and waited for 20 minutes to get the drinks and another 20 minutes for a salad. And that was after informing the waiter 2 times that our food didn’t come. Then waited for about 10 minutes for the stater. Spoke with the waiter and manager and they seem to not care about it and just told us to wait more. Had to ask for the check and paid for the salad and stater then left. Very bad experience and such an unprofessional way in a fine dining. Don’t recommend it.
The location is perfect and the service is fabulous! Not all the food was amazing, especially the lobster roll was dry. The beef tartar was the best in Mayfair.I would recommend the veranda on a sunny day.
Way too expensive.Very crowded but with good reason.Food was good and the wait staff was welcoming. There was trash near the door inside and a full time door man.The tables were very crowded to each other but the food made up for it. Way too much formal dining on a table the size of a side cupboard. We had to rearrange plates to eat comfortably.
Had a lovely meal on the terrace. It was decorated beautifully. I loved the way all the staff uniforms were coordinated with the summer decor. The bread was lovely, fresh and warm. The food was full of flavour and I really enjoyed my meal. The plating and presentation was beautiful and the labneh really brought the dish together. Can also highly recommend the “Something Tropical” cocktail. Would have liked to see some further options for vegetarian main courses although the menu does change seasonally.
Second time at 34 Mayfair and unfortunately it didn’t live up to first visit expectations. 3 calls on the day still left us unsure as to whether there was a childrens menu during the week (we visited on a Saturday previously). On arriving we were promptly put at a table around the side of the restaurant, even though it was largely empty. The few couples in the restaurant would not have been affected by a 12, 10 and 6 year old so there was no need to hide us at the back of a otherwise deserted restaurant. We do not mind paying circa £300 for a late lunch, but having to chase a drinks order (for one beertwice that never came, was surprising given the place was near empty. The food was pleasant although not memorable, but the difference in service and table placing was enough to ensure we won’t visit again. It is a shame as we had previously been extremely complimentary about our our first visit.
Great ambience and amazing staff. Highly recommend for couples and family lunches . The seating indoor is spacious and the outdoor terrace is lovely in the summer.
I went for brunch and ended up getting the Sunday roast. Unfortunately, it was tasteless! The beef had no seasoning, the potatoes were dry and hard, the Yorkshire pudding was not fluffy. It was all very lack lustre. Didn’t bother to finish it so ended up getting dessert which was good! The chocolate & pistachio fondant with milk ice cream. This was tasty but my fondant didn’t fondant didn’t ooze and the ice cream was too small a potion for the fondant, it was just a small quenelle on the side of the plate. I think it needs to be a larger scoop to fully enjoy it with the font at before it melts and particularly considering the price point too! I had an the lychee blossom mocktail which was refreshing, very floral. Customer service was ok and the restaurant ambience was nice too.
Fortunate to visit with friends, Dan who works at the bar is an absolute gent! Thank you for such amazing service.
Great door men and ambiance in the restaurant. Great wine list. Didn’t like the ‘politely leave’ policy after 2 hours. We ordered the chateaubriand which was good but we’ve had better. Overall wanted it to be a great experience but fell slightly short.
You can expect the highest standard of service at this restaurant, the most efficient, considerate and professional staff in london for sure . Despite not being one of the most expensive, they can easily destroy any restaurant in Mayfair with there standards . Huge well done to the training and efficiency . Also I am always amazed on how the host remembers me by name, even if you don’t have a booking they will try to accommodate you as they are actually interested in serving and making money! On to the food, I have some missing pictures but over the visits I have made I have managed to post the ones attached, they have a lovely lobster Mac and cheese, all the red meats are of the highest quality (wagyu or notand even some interesting veg options like the sweet potato burger !If your thinking of where to eat on a weekend brunch(outstanding menuor just a weekday dinner, then I recommend 34,,, 34times!
Good food. Service above normal with attention to detail. Atmosphere as expected for Mayfair. The mandatory cover charge is insulting because when asked for an explanation it was explaining that its to cover napkins and table preparation. All of the above should be included in the food price. For clarification none of cover charge goes to staff nor charity
Everything from service, food, staff, decor to the whole of the ambience scores over 5 stars! No words are enough to describe the love and appreciation we feel for this place for making our wedding lunch event so very special. Each of guests haven’t stopped raving about it! From the point of the inquiry, Lauren the lady who helped us through arranging our entire event was super helpful. She made life so easy, especially putting up with our endless questions and being so humble to many changes from our side. Each and every staff including the manager at the restaurant are super professional and very friendly. Each dishes were executed with delicious flavours, making the dish look even better than Michelin stars ✨ The wine were favourites and the cheese cake is to die for! I highly recommend this place for any occasion and I know my friends, family and myself will soon be returning here!
The food is great, the service is great, the vibe is great. Its a fancy restaurant but not so stuck up at the same time.I found it to be a unique balance or classy, relaxed and great food.Try their pizza, Lobster cheese pasta and much more but you always have to end it the sweet way, with the special fluffy doughnut. 😍
All tasty dishes.Good service. Eggs Benedict was quite small dish. Nice area outside with heaters.
The best lobster mac and cheese ever you will try in your life and place amazing great vibe all foods delicious and staff professional and friendly one of best experiences i had
Stunning venue for brunch - Food is very pricey for what it is but the ambience and staff were great. Disappointed we didnt see any of the featured decorations/themes but perhaps thatll have justified the food price. Mocktail was fresh and aesthetically pleasing. Can get overcrowded in the front desk especially when people are arriving and people also getting their coats.
Now one of my favourite restaurants in London. The venue is amazing, the staff is absolutely lovely and the service is impeccable. This is one of the best brunch I had, the food is delicious and overall not expensive at all. Totally a must go
Their food was the the star at this place. A good place for groups and business meetings. Though their service ain’t gonna be their selling point but it exists. Food was cleared off our table without us being asked, food was put on our table without being introduced. It’s a shame because the food was good! The scallops had a fusion kinda sauce which was so good we ordered more. We were 4 people; 1 serving of the scallops was 3 pcs, a good restaurant would normally ask if we would like to have 4 pieces instead but they did not and brought 3 more servings when we had ordered just 2 more as they said they could not do 4 pieces. I had the Korean spiced chicken which was delicious and my friends had the monkfish, sole fish and salmon and were all happy with it. The wine selection is quite extensive as well. I would love to go back there again for the food so I hope their service would get better!
Great food, nice atmosphere, cocktails were okay (cant alter the signature ones). I had the Eggs Benedict which was really good. Passion fruit parfait had that sharp tang with the sweetness to break through it.
A lovely place, that came highly recommended on the basis of their outdoor terrace, and it didnt dissaponint in the summer evenings. Great menu selection with very good tasting food. The only issue is that you can only have a maximum of 4 on the outside terrace so if you have childeren its a little tight. Staff very friendly and accomadating.
Elegant ambiance, very good food (miso halibut, steaks are all delicious). Dont skip desert and they have some very mouth-watering sweets, I liked the donuts. The staff is also quite friendly.
Amazing Christmas decorations! The interior of the restaurant is beautifully covered in Christmas baubles, it feels very festive. The staff are friendly and very attentive. Very nice food, there are great options besides the steak - I can recommend the duck salad entree and lamb main. The chicken was also nicely cooked, but not as nice in my opinion as the lamb was.
