33 Abbeville Road - Modern British restaurant in Colombia, Cuba
All the best parts of fine dining with none of the drawbacks. Fantastic food and great portions. A democratic wine list, great craft beers on tap and exceptional sevice (thank you Lucie). Cant believe I lived in Clapham for so long without giving this place a try. Will be back!
Friendly French staff with 20% off wine between 4-7.
The website and the board outside says brunch is served Sunday 10am-4pm, but when we arrived at 2.30pm we were told brunch finished at 2pm.
Very disappointing. Food was horrible, flavourless and cold. Guacamole out of a packet (rather then smashed avo), served on bizarre cold burger buns (?(rather than brioche toast on the menubeneath two tiny anemic eggs. My husbands waffles were not much better (but just about edible). The waiting staff are at least nice/polite. We did complain about the really grim food but it fell on deaf ears. £45 for two revolting meals made me feel compelled to leave a review. Avoid.
The food was delicious, and the service was incredible. Lucie was super efficient and very friendly and smiley.Lucky to have this place on our doorstep
Staff are super friendly and helpful setting is nice. Food is generally good but nothing special. Sourdough bread was a bit dead and small.
First time at this restaurant was meeting my Nephew for lunch who works over Clapham way..the food was so delicious butter chicken burger and chips….lovely pleasant atmosphere and was served by Lucy who was a bundle of happiness..Thankyou to all the lovely staff and Chef….I will definitely be back🥰
A great menu and nice friendly service. The food was lovely and well presented
Good brunch selection and friendly staff.
Love the location, different style of furniture, chic design, fantastic food and great great service!!
Amazing food, great service and fantastic drinks.
Went for our anniversary dinner and blown away by quality of the food and service!Absolutely amazing from beginning to end with some really nice cocktails. We had:Ceaser and anchovy flatbreadFried scallops with baconPoched pear with goats cheese and gingerbreadSalmon fishcakesRibeye steakAbbeville MessCan get a little noisy since its so popular but already looking forward to going back again.
A nice little surprise in the back of Balham. Good friendly service. A varied choice of modern fusion food that was flavoursome and well presented. A comprehensive alcohol list but no labeled bottled water only filtered.
Very nice brunch - lovely setting and great for people watching on a weekend!
Love this place. Staff always helpful and the decor is very inviting. The food is delicious, too!
I am a repeat customer to this place, both for brunch and dinner, both during the week and on the weekends. If you are used to fine dining in Europe, this places comes close!!Love their Bloody Mary offering too!!
Probably one of the best restaurants Ive been to in a while! We had the seabass that was on the specials board and just upset it isnt on the main menu! However, even before we saw the specials I was struggling to choose what to have, everything looks so good!
Delicious food and amazing service! The staff are very friendly and truly care about your experience. The chef is clearly very talented because the food is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this place, which is in a lovely part of Clapham. It is away from the noise/bustle of Clapham High Street and is located in the pocket of Abbeville, which is a very high end, elite part of Clapham.Highly recommended dish: fresh burrata (pictured in the reviewand squid ink seafood pasta (I forgot to take a picture but this dish was out of this world!)
Friendly staff, good food and reasonable prices. However a little underseasoned for my taste and the avocado didnt seem fresh.
Lovely ambience, good service & friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Bit disappointed with my rare beef, extremely difficult to cut & chew. Otherwise lovely roast vegs & dessert
The food is very tasty, the place is comfy, good food presentation and excellent staff!
Such a cool brunch spot just around the corner from Clapham Common. The food is amazing, great service and dog friendly. Would recommend this to anyone in the area,
Food was great service was good but felt one persons service remained suspect. Ignoring this one person, excellent location and greT food so will recommend
I love Abbeville road and this place was simply cherry on the cake! Very cosy but modern decor, with (extremely - maybe a bit too much for my tastesattentive service. Our food was overall good, easpecially my cod but maybe some combinations (like burrata with butternutwere a bit hazardous. Desert was delicious though! Price in line with our choices / location.
Lovely food and great service!
Wonderfully creative flavour pallets at this modern European restaurant. All the dishes we had were wonderful but the starters were absolutely amazing, especially the parmesan panna cotta. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and professional. Will definitely return!
Absolutely lovely place, really nice interesting food and super friendly staff. Very pretty inside and everything was delicious.
The words “brunch” and “Clapham” in the same sentence would usually send me running in the other direction but No 33 does it without pretension, fuss and with a good dose of friendliness. Although arranged as a treat the value and quality of food will mean this will be more than a one off occasion.
My first visit to this venue and I really enjoyed it. The wine list was very good and some cocktails to start is always a fun idea. Some really interesting dishes and good selections of nibbles while we looked at the menu. Service was lovely and they looked after us all so well. Pork special was delicious, so glad I chose that. The parfait to start could have done with a bit more seasoning, but it didnt stop it being a great start to the night!
such an amazing place with a great atmosphere - friendly service and great food that caters for various dietary requirements! 10/10 would come again :)
Not many gluten free options and burger looked good but it was very tasteless. Fries and service good. Toast on the veggie English not toasted (a bit of a contradiction). Ok place, will not rush back.
Had the most delightful meal last week. The foccacia starter was a delightful taste sensation. The Scallops with belly pork absolutely delicious. My taste buds were totally invigorated. A hidden gem in Abbeville village!
Lovely Sunday lunch with my friends today, grazing in the sun! Service was absolutely excellent, one of the best I’ve had in London. Fast service, good explanations and lots of french charm.Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Had a lovely pork belly roast dinner.
Absolutely delicious - it was just such a hard choice to decide what I wanted from the menu! Price-wise, its definitely a treat kind of place, but as I live nearby, Im certain Ill treat myself again there sometime soon.
Nice enough but was really disappointed to be given only a thin piece of pumpkin with no seasoning as my ‘vegetarian roast’. There are so many more tasty, interesting options for veggies - hope to have something a bit more exciting next time I visit!
The service was a real problem, it just wasnt great. Too slow to clear tables, masks only intermittently being worn by staff. I would not recommend the cod dish that I had, somehow they managed to make it taste of absolutely nothing, which could be considered an art in itself. Not enough seasoning, very thin sauce. I very rarely, if ever leave food on my plate, this time I did. My partner ordered steak, which she described as poor in terms of presentation and taste. We both decided that we would not visit this establishment ever again.
One of my first post lockdown restaurant experiences. 33 Abbeville Road has a really clear policy on how they are addressing the new restrictions which made the whole experience feel very safe. All the staff wore masks and you viewed the menu on your phone rather than exchanging paper copies.Lovey food, great balancing of strong flavours on the tuna starter and cod main although could have been seasoned more.
Went for brunch with friends. Excellent service and very cosy with a nice atmosphere. Great coffee. Had eggs royale- was good but nothing outside the ordinary which is the reason I’m giving a 4* rather than a 5*. Would go back.
Ordered what the server recommended. It was one of the best meals of my life. Absolutely loved the food. The atmosphere and service were excellent as well. Everyone should definitely eat here.
I have been there on Saturday to have brunch with some friends and family.I ordered the steak & eggs meal which I found absolutely fantastic. The steak was cooked in the way I wanted (medium rareand it was well blended with all the other ingredients (eggs, hollandaise, black pudding and potato). The restaurant is quite cozy and it’s not excessively crowded, staff is nice.
Sunday morning brunch. Excellent! French toast and granola were great. Good coffee and lovely atmosphere. The service was brilliant - such a friendly place. Will be back! Do yourself a wee favour and go get brunch at this lovely place.
Great food and friendly staff. A good dinner option on Abbeville Road!
The menu and the food is lovely here. Went for brunch today and the Eggs Abberville was mind-blowing. Every last mouthful. Washed down with a tangy and moreish Bloody Mary. The French Toast was lovely and soft to round things off.Staff are very friendly and attentive. The only downside to this restaurant is that the acoustics make the background noise pretty heavy even when only half full.Look forward to going again though! Surf n turf evening a definite attraction :-)
Update! We are back again and we haven’t been disappointed. This time for cocktails and small plates.Happy hour from 5pm saw our cocktails come in at £6 and we had three plates for £10. Great value and amazing flavours, I’m very impressed. Check out my photos for a glimpse of what you will get.*********I love this restaurant! The food is great and it’s a nice space to relax and catch up with friends. We tried a Sunday Roast this time and it’s really worth it. It’s best if you book a table before hand, but if like us your not that well organised, try your luck as they may be able to squeeze you in.And if a Bloody Mary is your thing, try the Slutty Mary 😜 it comes with pretty awesome chorizo sausage.
An excellent evening with very attentive but not obtrusive staff. They were able to accommodate us in a lovely nook area of the restaurant at quite short notice. We arrived just before Happy Hour ended so were able to take advantage of the drinks on offer. The meals were presented beautifully, without any significant wait and was of a high quality and tasted excellent. The ambiance was welcoming and the restaurant seems to be very popular. There is a bar area if you only wish to pop in for drinks. This area was dog friendly. Our final bill was reasonable for the area and includes the 12.5% service charge which goes directly to the serving staff. Would recommend for a quick bite out or an intimate evening.
I really love this local restaurant. The food is delicious. Save room for the dessert...as someone who can usually take or leave a dessert, Im incapable of resisting whatever happens to be their chocolate concoction of the day.
Lovely restaurant - very pretty and great food. The sticky toffee pudding was incredible! Can’t believe I’ve lived so close for ages and never been! They also serve high quality cocktails.
After two bad restaurant experiences on Abbeville Road....I was not going to dine there again...I had lost all hope, until I went to number 33. The service was great, the food delicious- I had the special which was sea bass with artichoke purée and spinach..... delicious...I literally had to stop myself from licking the plate, and on Sundays they have a vegan roast to die for.....yes yes yes this is what all those other nasty/ stuffy restaurants should aspire to be like
Absolutely fantastic food. We had the focaccia and English breakfast which were both generous portions and great tasting. The dinner menu (burgerslooked great too. Price was reasonable for London, service was fine.
Delicious menu - caters to vegetarians, pesceterians, allergies.Great service and attentive staff. Two potential suggestions:- A description of the specials on the board by the wait staff rather than just placing the board beside table for us to read.- More ambient and congruent music playlist - some heavier rock tunes were distracting.Overall great service and great food!
