I was taking this establishment for a belated birthday dinner was very interesting offering Bingo music and entertainment on TV so you had everything the food was great our server was a little bit one could say too persistent to get us out of the but still very polite he was simply punctual which can be good and bad I wont hold it to him cause the food was beautifully made as well as tasty

Great place to have a drink and some food. Nice staff and chill atmosphere.

Typical sports bar. Lots of tvs with varied sports venues.There is a lot of seating but the service is s l o w. The table we sat at was sticky not appealing to sit at.We waited a very long time to get our order. My husbands meal was fish and chips looked like frozen battered fish sticks.I ordered chips with caso. Not good either.

Awesome place, staff, drinks, people. Always a great time with great food. Would recommend! Do yourself a favor and stop in! Trivia night on Wednesday!!!

Great atmosphere. Too much for me to finish. Catfish was great. Worth the money.

Not many customers when there, but still very slow and inattentive service (and my expectations are generally pretty low). Waitress was talking to bartender for several minutes, would disappear for long lengths. Had fajita steak nachos, and they were okay if you like the liquidy nacho cheese, but underseasoned. Fried jalapeños were good. No beer menu available,though.

The food is great, however the service is always slow and its very loud inside. Weve had several different servers and they have all had wonderful personalities and tableside manner, so Im not sure if its a matter of maybe being understaffed. Its a sports restaurant, so noise is expected, but the last several times we have been there, its almost impossible to speak to anyone at the table, and even harder to hear our own server. If theyd just make the acoustics a bit better for tables to converse, the slow service might just become more of an oversight.

Good atmosphere, but over priced menu. If youre priced to visit the place, think twice then think again. Youre very likely to need to file bankruptcy afterwards. And the food quality is very much like McDonalds at best.

Server was funny, capable, and knowledgeable. The food was very good and the portions were ample. The vibe is very laid back.

I sat at the outside patio for just a couple of drinks. The bartender was very friendly. The atmosphere was very casual, plenty of TVs.

One of our favorite sports bars. We have tried several things on the menu and have never been disappointed. Stop if you haven’t already

Currently looking to hire and you can tell. My husband and I went in the late evening and although they were not too busy, our food could have been better. Seems like one bartender was servicing both inside and outside bar.I know they have great service but one experience does not define this restaurant. Hopefully they can hire new people and get back up to the top where Ive known them to be.

Wife and I tried this place out last weekend. Started off good and food was good but service could use improvement. Different ppl had to bring us our drinks multiple times and our food our waiter Adrian came back with an attitude because his tip wasnt as big as he wanted.

Great crawfish. Cheapest in town at $5.99 a lb. Dining in only.

Crayfish are good. Very spicy but they could cook alittle less so there not mushy. But we love it here

DO NOT GO HERE!!! My friend had the waiter argue with her about the bill saying she didn’t pay…..not only did she pay had to have another couple pay cause it got so crazy! She checked acct online and she DID in fact pay. They are trying to hustle people and even called the cops. This place is absolutely trash.

242 is always good, and surprisingly delicious. Sometimes it takes a bit for a waitress to notice you came in, especially if you are on the far west side of the restaurant, but service is always good once they see you. The menu says everything is scratch made, and I believe it. Everything is way tastier than you would expect from a "Sports bar" like atmosphere. I dont normally frequent sports bars, but this one is worthwhile if youre hungry. Crawfish is always fresh and large, and its always cooked just right. We enjoy the boudain balls/bites too. Everything is always good here actually. Check it out!

The food was good overall. The first round of crawfish was very flavorful and very tasty. However the second round seemed like it was only boiled with no flavor - however the waitress was nice enough to provide some extra seasoning on the side. The kitchen was having issues so our kids food took about 1+ hours to come out - which was our biggest complaint. The waitress and manager were understanding and accommodated the situation fairly.

Went for a late dinner date and I have to say that I am impressed! I wish that I had photos to post but we destroyed our meals so there wasnt much left to photograph. We ordered the Cajun Sampler platter for starters which consisted of light flaky catfish bites, fried pickles & jalapeños, 6 boudin balls, and tender fried alligator bites served with ranch, Roumalade/Gator Sauce, and tartar dipping sauces. MAN! The portions were HUGE!! The sampler literally came out on a 18" crawfish platter. I knew at that point that my entree was gonna be mostly relegated to take out after I saw the appetizer portion size. My family is from Louisiana and Im EX-TREM-ELY picky about my fried alligator. For at least 10 years Ive sampled many restaurants in this area and I hadnt found a restaurant that was competent enough to bread and fry alligator properly. Until tonight, EVERY place that Ive tried, frys the hell out of it until its chewy as gristle and the batter/breading is usually bland or soggy. Well the chef at THIS establishment has created the holy grail of fried alligator and I just pray they dont change the recipe or take the chef for granted. It was just the right amount of crispy breading, perfectly seasoned, melt in your mouth like butta... fried alligator that Ive had in years. Its was so perfectly seasoned that sauce was completely unnecessary. That in itself is a rarity.For my entree I ordered the home made from scratch Oscar Mac & Cheese with crab, shrimp, crawfish, diced jalapeños topped with their Oscar sauce, again the portion was huge! It was the ultimate creamy comfort food and I definitely look forward to enjoying my take out leftovers tomorrow for lunch along with a food coma nap. My date ordered the 242 Shrimp PoBoy with generous portions of golden fried shrimp.We genuinely enjoyed EVERYTHING !! Our server, Maddy was very attentive with just the right amount of warm friendliness that complimented our meal and dining experience.242 Pub & Grill is not your average pub fare. The food is undoubtedly upscale with a relaxed sports bar atmosphere. We definitely look forward to our next visit.

The only reason for the 1 star is the food is good, if you can ever get served. I’ve tried this location on a couple of occasions since it’s close to the house. If you see more than 10 cars in the parking lot, keep driving. They can’t handle the crowds and this is even before Covid. This latest trip we sat for 20 mins with not even a glass of water and barely acknowledgement that we were even there. Table next to us complained because they waited for their food for a long time and came out cold. Garbage service means garbage experience.

My husband and I have eaten here numerous times. This time we went with a large group and We were all impressed with Kayla M our waitress. She was very attentive and thoughtful. As we were ordering she asked if we wanted the kids meal first and we advised her we probably want it to go because our granddaughter was asleep. As our food was delivered of course she woke up and Kayla was quick to have the kitchen make the kids meal and brought it out for her. Kayla was very knowledgeable on the products and her suggestions were great. There were other large parties she was taking care of and she was able to still provide excellent customer service. We all were very happy with Kayla M and very glad she was our waitress. I know we will back again as my husband and frequently eat here. Now I think there will be three other families returning.

This place had absolutely gorgeous bartenders and staff. To top it off the drink specials here are unbelievable. Cheap cheap! Finally they have the best wings ever. I highly recommend the Sweet Thai Chili wings. Disney World for your taste buds!!

Very slow service and the food was quite overpriced. The food was very good though! Im always concerned when the menu has no prices, but sometimes thats how it is.Had a bbq chicken melt, a burger, and alligator...all fantastic.

This place was going good. I was even discussing to my wife how this place had low reviews. Then I saw a roach crawling by my plate of food. I was disgusted. I moved my baby and was shocked to see how a roach could crawl on a baby carrier. Then a manager came and checked and said he believed us.

Sat at a table that was freshly stained and not yet dry. It seemed like no one wanted to believe it was wet until I showed them the stain on my hand. No one bothered to offer me anything to clean it off either. We were seated at another table and ordered shortly after. I saw the waitress enter our order well after she took it. So we were there around 40 minutes before we got our order (the place was not busy at all. Only 2 other tables and a few people at the bar.When they brought out the order, we didnt get the basket of fries i ordered. I saw the waitress add that to our ticket on the kiosk which means she never even put the order in for those. Then we noticed my husband only had 12 wings when he ordered 24. Again, the waitress went and added that to our ticket because she messed that up too. Honestly Ive only eaten here a few times and the food is great each time. But this trip was disastrous enough to keep me from returning.

I really enjoyed my meal. The salad was big and tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. Big open air setting. Not fancy. I enjoyed the cat fish and sweet potatoes fries. I like my cat fish a softer but the flavor was good.

I rated this restaurant with 5 stars because, The food is great!! The employees were friendly and helpful. When I came in, I was helped in a timely manner. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and presentable. I would totally come back here and recommend it his place.

First time, not so good of a experience. I think we had 3 different waiters, barely got an order in after 2o minutes, almost left to go somewhere else.. Got some drinks and a glass of water with a hole it in. Waitress acted like it was not her job to bring napkins to clean it up. Food was really good, Id give it another chance just wouldnt be the first choice.

This is the third time weve ordered pick up. In the past I have had to wait when I got there, and the staff werent particularly nice, but this time was a new low. The staff person told me my order and confirmed all the food was there. I asked him how much cocktail sauce he gave us. He told me none, that I had to order that extra ("the manager has gotten on us about giving it away for free"). So he charged me a dollar upcharge. What he brought me after I paid were three tiny cups, about enough for two shrimp a piece. Good news, because they also skimped on the shrimp, so we had enough. Seriously, we weighed our pound of shrimp, and it was about a half pound, plus the insignificant corn and potatoes they added to the steamed shrimp. The corn was inedible. Its a shame this is the kind of service they give, because the little we actually got was good. But we will not be going back.

Literally haha down one of the best services staff and etc Ive experienced in forever brought in 2-6yr is one 5yr old and a 15 day old the were accommodating they were helpful treated everyone so kindly was patient and just an over all amazing time, drinks were amazing food was good but the hospitality is what Ill go back again and again for.... Thank you ladies all so very much

Good spot for late night eats and a beer or mixed drink with outside cabana patio seating or inside barside or booth.The Creole Cajun food items are always great choices as well as chips and queso or homemade salsa!

So during a time like now I am sure to be extra patient. But when I am the only customer in the parking lot and I called in my order ahead of time, and gave an additional 15 minutes, its really frustrating having to go in after being assured they do curbside and being treated as if Id done something wrong. Once I got home, the wings that were order are undercooked and the sweet potato fries are soggy. Ill be sure to frequent another restaurant when I need something to eat.

Very fresh made cajun food. The fried mushrooms are the best Ive ever tasted. Get their spicy 242 ranch sauce to dip the mushrooms in. Wish it was closer to home.

Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this place the staff is unprofessional. They allowed the mger friends kids to run all over the place knoting people over. The food has also gone down hill!!! Service was slow. There was multiple people served!!!!!! Highly recommended going anyone else!This is a great place to go for lunch, they are fast, the price is a bit high not really a big deal

The seafood mac & cheese is TOO DIE FOR!!! Id recommend this place over and over. Love the good food and dj on weekends. Service is hit or miss but usually decent.

Fun visit and man, what a burger!!! Certainly one of the very best in the area. Double beef patties, double bacon, substituted pepper jack cheese, and added jalapenos. Whew! We sat at the bar and Eddie took care of us. Great service Eddie...thanks!

First time to visit 242. Its more of a bar than a grill, but the burgers were really good and the hand breaded onion rings are huge. TVs everywhere. Think well be back this weekend to watch the Astros win games 3, 4 and 5!

How do you mess up a caesar salad? Dry with no dressing then brought on the side, also on a oval plate, not a bowl. Messy and very underwhelming. When I asked if they normally toss their Caesars in dressing she said she didnt know and walked away...smh

The manager Rachel greeted me with the assistant manager . The mushrooms and onion rings are a must. I brought the onion rings home and had them for breakfast..the service was great. The crowd was alive, Astros were playing, and we even got a home run Crawford beer for 5 cents. I posted several pictures of this location so you will know what to expect. So when you go get a bucket of beer, onion rings, mushrooms and the burger . Love this atmosphere. They have live music Kenny Cooper was the entertainer that evening and hopefully they have him return. Thanks Rachel for a great evening. Definitely recommend and will return.

Crawfish was spicy like I like it. The crab and shrimp were good. Fountain drinks were flat. Service was good

Small portions excellent customer service!! I order the Duo which consist of the Snow crab and Shrimp. The Snow crab were small, but the Shrimp were ok. I also had The Trash can punch drink which was really good. We order the the Cajun chicken pasta which is always good!

The manager was nice. cool looking place the food was ok the mashed potatoes were real spicy my son had the kids spaghetti and he did not like it, the noodles were a bit dry or wasnt done, it just wasnt good. The chicken fried steak was good. They were out of the desert we wanted.

Had a great lunch and a awesome Bloody Mary. TVs everywhere to watch your favorite sporting event. Nice staff clean restrooms.

I’m from Louisiana and finding good crawfish out here has been hard. 242’s crawfish are great, fully of flavor and a nice kick of spice. Last time we tried the seafood trip with crawfish, shrimp, and crab leg. That was tasty too.

I pass by this place all the time and decided to try it out. Im glad I did! The atmosphere is fun - tons of TVs everywhere. The music is fun and takes me back to my younger days. The food is very tasty and portions are huge! Hint: ask about the bucket beer - NOT a bucket OF beer. Our server was Mary and she was great! So sweet and friendly and provided A++ service and made my fist visit great. I will definitely be back!

Great experience! My family and I come here pretty often! The food is always good, the staff is always friendly, and its always a good time! Be prepared to wait when you go!!!
