Was good to be back after some time and good to see the place busy, service was good, friendly and helpful, food was up to standard although the 21 grill serlion steak (picturedwas a little dry as a dish, value for money is always a debatable issue, but we enjoyed our vist

Had a nice dinner here recently. Our waiter was a little bit rude at first in not wanting to take responsibility for an error in the order which was taken down incorrectly but made sure to apologise by the end of the meal.The prices are great and food was delicious. It was presented well; hot, fresh & with great portions.I would recommend this restaurant

21 grill has been a classic in Blantyre for many years and will most likely remain one in the years to come.Ive been here a couple of times but most recently was for my mothers birthday. We were a party of 8, reservations and everything had already been made but the service we received was just... disappointing.Multiple times through the night I had to leave the room we were seated in to go searching for the waiter and find out whats happening with the food, we ordered drinks as a group yet they were coming one by one. Some of the drink orders we just completely gave up on.Despite being one of the first groups in the restaurant, we were the very last group to leave as a result of how long it was taking to receive basic service.The steaks were cooked to our liking, apart from the t-bone, and overall the food was enjoyable but *definitely* not worth the wait or the substandard service.

About yesterday it was a terrbly bad service. the food was great only their tbone was very hard to eat. On ordering drinks was a nightmare as we had to keep walking to them for a service. Last but not least the waiter spilled vegetables on the Birthday Girl laps esh it was embarassing but anyway all in all, your personel needs to up their game as we spend alot in these dinners so we expect a good service. And on another note upon arrival i was told that our booking was cancelled, then i asked by who? cause i was the one who made the booking the previous day and i didnt cancel. No one had an answer to this and luckly another table preferred to dine outside then we were allocated this table. Esh, next time please before any cancellation call the numbers we always leave when booking for confirmation.

Probably one of the best restaurants in the city - a top facilities and high standard - of course, this has its price, which in my view is a little too high - but still a very nice place to eat.

21 Grill Restaurant is the perfect place for a date and to spend quality time with your friends and family. The food is amazing and the service is recommendable. If you happen to be in the area, give it a try and you will not regret it.

Been here several times and this time my daughter could notice the service is not what it used to be. The food is still great with a very nice selection of wines. But the few issues they have are unforgiveable for a restraunt at this level.

I had a late lunch which is why the place was not full. I ordered Malawis special dish - Chambo - fish from Lake Malawi. It came with a sumptuous helping of Irish Potato wedges. It came with a price tag befitting the establishment. Its atmosphere was ambient. Next time will dress up for dinner. I came all the way from Mulanje District as a reprieve from field work.

The Grill was great! The service was better. This would have been a 5 star review, except for the steaks were a little tough...however, for the price, it was great! If you go and eat here you will not be sorry.Matter of fact, if you stay in the hotel, this place is a must (over the other restaurant for sure!)

Good food and amazing atmosphere.

The atmosphere and drinks were incredible. However, I wasnt asked how I wanted my ribeye cooked and forgot to volunteer the information. It was served well done - chewy, flavorless, and the fat turned to gristle. Very disappointing.

We have been coming to this restaurant as a family for over 35 years. It has always been the one place you can be assured of a fine meal with a fine experience.Over the more recent years the 21 Grill has been perfected even further with the presence and influence of Bevan being in charge of the kitchens.Food is very good and steaks are undoubtedly their forte! Their service is to match, with well trained, friendly staff always there to look after you.The best dish still remains their signature Jack Daniels Steak.

Best restaurant in Malawi great steaks

One of the fanciest places in town. You can get juicy steaks from the grill and wine from the bar. Its worth the money and not that much more expensive than other nice restaurants in Blantyre. The staff is friendly and very professional. The bar is also nice with very comfortable places to hang out.

I have gone back to this restaurant at least once every visit to Blantyre over the last 5 years and have never been disappointed. The food has always been good, especially the steaks. Just a few minor things makes this a little less than a 5 star restaurant. Some of the dishes have names that arent quite accurate - e.g., the Thai spring rolls are just loaded with chicken (something I wasnt looking for and didnt want), even though I asked the server to elaborate on the contents upon going through the menu. I got a blank look and what I thought was an acknowledgement that they were vegetable spring rolls. However, it is a good place to have an upscale dinner if you happen to be visiting Blantyre.

Very cosy setting and i enjoyed the live band playing beautiful music. To top it off, you are allowed to be the lead singer of the band to serenade your loved ones. Very family friendly restaurant. I wouldn’t say the food prices are cheap or expensive as that depends on how deep or shallow one’s pockets are.The menu has something for everyone. I couldn’t sit in so i ate some starters and took the main dish as takeaway. Open Chambo was fresh and delicious.

I had several dinners in 21 Grill restaurant during my stay in Blantyre. Really satisfied with the service as well as the food. Good and cozy place to spend the evening. Just make sure to make a reservation for weekend or any other public holidays. The restaurant has also good choices for wines. Got served a Merlot wine here and it became my favourite since then.

I was staying in Protea Hotel and part of it is this restaurant. I came there to order meal to my room (which was possible according to reception- first words when I said: Hello, can I order a meal to my room werent Welcome, of course! but, from waitress looking irritated on her watch: but they have their room service. Not even good evening... I was so surprised that I didnt know how to react... Finally, they make me that honour and allowed me to order a meal (after Ive asked if I can speak with manager)... And it was really mediocre. Everything was so salty. Medium rare steak was burn to ash. I have no idea who is writing all these positive reviews here - I would be surprised if these are real guests. I would recommend to stay away.PS. Ive tried also order a meal next day - I thought that I will give them another chance. Service was only a bit better and food well... Mediocre is best word here as well. I will follow their advice and stick to hotel room service next time.

Best restaurant, grill house, steak house in Malawi.Make a Reservations if planning to go in peak periods (Christian holidays, last/firstweekend of the month).Went again in January 2017, the restaurant has been renovated and we had a wonderful time. Our waiter was Yamikani, such wonderful service. Keep it up 21!

Fantastic place with amazing staff and even better food. The Chef is South African and knows his stuff. The quality of food is definitely worth the price, by western standards.The atmosphere is really nice and the tables, seats etc are super comfy.I would recommend the lamb curry/rice thingo. Really tasty. Their wine list is great too.Expect to be paying 10000-15000 per person for food plus wine.

After a terrible experience at this restaurant I have decided to write the first review in my life. Went to Grill 21 with a group of about 15 people for a friends birthday. She had made a reservation, this was not a last minute group coming in. We came in and were seated around 8. We ordered food and waited...and waited...and waited. Food finally started coming out around 9:50, almost 2 hours after we were seated. It probably took about 20-30 minutes for them to bring out all of the dishes too, so the first person was served way before the last...who, unfortunately, happened to be the poor birthday girl.During the whole 2 hour wait none of the staff asked us if we wanted anything to drink (we had ordered a couple of drinks at the bar beforehand but my friends were all begging me for a sip of my water about 1.5 hours in). As far as I know, neither did they apologize for the wait. The food is fine, but doesnt make up for the terrible service. Would not recommend, and would especially urge large groups to stay away.
