1Luv has the MOST AUTHENTIC JAMAICAN FOOD on this side of Texas! I came one time for the steamed red snapper and been going back for it EVERYDAY since and I bring other US Army soldiers with me EVERYTHING is good the brown stew snapper, steamed snapper, escovich snapper, curry shrimp and the curry shrimp are NOT small baby shrimp like those other restaurants serve my battles LOVE the jerk chicken, oxtails, brown stew chicken and the curry chicken! If you are looking for GREAT food and AMAZING customer service 1Luv is the place! Ozzy is amazing, the lady in the front is so pleasant and so are the other staff members! I HAVE to start my mornings with ackee & salt fish the only thing missing from the menu is porridge. I’m gonna miss being stationed at fort hood when I leave, you guys are the BEST!

Sorry to break it to you all, but, 1Luv Island Restaurant is the best Jamaican restaurant in Killeen. The food is always fresh. Great Quality! Man, I just crushed my oxtails and rice and peas. I wish I can go back in time (20mins maxso I can have that plate all over again. LOL.

Curry chicken didnt taste like curry not enough curry in the chicken, usually they are on point. Must been an off day. It happens

If you desire to eat the best ox tails on planet Earth, then you must try this place 1st, Im 42 years young, and never before have Ive ever eaten anything more delicious... The rice with beans and cabbage is an bonus, I eat here a couple of times every week, just dont tell my kids on me

Food was pretty good. We got the oxtail plate. The vibe inside was kind of weird. We walked in and the older black lady was all laughing and joking with another customer. When it was our turn to order, it felt like we were bothering her, we got the blank death stare. The older gentleman in the back hooking up the order was kind enough to show the plates, now he was friendlier. 1Luv Island Restaurant. You may need to find a better host/cashier.

We got the ox tail, jerk chicken, & curry chicken. The food was delicious (reminded me of moms& the owners were very friendly. We ate in the restaurant, but theyre really set up more for to-go.

The amount of food for the price you pay is amazing and the food is delicious

Excellent place to get your real authentic Jamiaca dish. No fake. I always have great personal experience. I catered from there before and everything was of excellent value.

If I can give it a zero star i honestly would. I have no problem with the service but I food was dumpster juice. I eat curry all the time but this curry has no flavor to it all all. It had curry in it but it was just so straight trash

Fish did not taste right. Tasted like the ocean water . Black lady is very rude and UNPROFESSIONAL. . Lady told me I looked crazy when she’s the one looking Black Burnt and CRAZY!!!! Will not be getting my money AGAIN.. THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANY STARS

None of the prices matched the menu at all. Not the ones on Google, their website, the review photos all show a different price which was still different from what I was charged. Ordered a large oxtail only shows no more than $14 and some change at the most but I was charged nearly $18! Food was decent nothing to write home about. Haven’t had any good Jamaican food since I left New York looks like I still haven’t found a place.

Wow, heard about it…….first time ordering and tasting their food. Very delicious, Staff attitude is great even down to showing Ur plate before bagging it!!!! I Enjoyed it All, will be Back again :)

We were picking bones out of every bite… please remove bones before cooking. Other than that, curry chicken was great, so were the beans and rice.

Goat curry was great. Wasnt a fan of the rice and beans alone but it was fine with the meat. Cabbage was great too. I also tried to rum cake, which was unexpected but good

Love the Curry Goat as long as the lady behind the counter isnt messing with her feet and mean mugging the customers. But food is great!

I just had the shrimp and broccoli I was trying to take it home. I tasted it when I got in the car.. I could not stop.. I was munching all the way down Rancier . I Love this food. The the service is rest nothing has change since they open good four good people. Since Covid service and portions have been greatly reduced and price have increased everywhere but here. Not this place it’s it’s all good.

I love their curry chicken and rice and beans. Gotta tell them extra curry sauce cause they be stingy fr lol.....ITS GOOD AF THOUGH

I love ox tails, but these were the best Ive ever had! The cabbage was phenomenal! I was actually eating with my eyes closed it was so good! 🙃

My friend didnt get plantains so I had to share mine. I also wanted extra jerk sauce but she said she would have to put it on the food. I passed. And will also pass on this place in the future.IG Atx Latina Heat

Tasty delicious and fresh authentic Jamaican food! The best in the area. Favorites are the red snapper , jerk chicken and ox tail meals.

I love love LOVE this restaurant!!! I’ve been in Killeen since 2017 and I’ve been to this restaurant too many times to count and everything I’ve eaten has surpassed my expectations! My favorite is the steam fish! If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out!!

Everyone seemed pretty nice I got the lunch special for 699 The Jerk Chicken in the curry chicken and the carrot mango juice and it was all great in the portion size for lunch I thought was decent

The food was good, however the experience was very slack! Between them heating my plate up in the microwave and the cashier staring at me without any communication, it was a very weird aura. The cashier should learn some customer service if she is going to be working the front. I will not be returning.

The food here is crazy good! I always split the different plates with friends the portions are good size. The ox tail and curry chicken is one of my favorites.

Food was fantastic! It was our first time getting food from here but we will definitely be back to try something else out. We ordered the Curry Goat. Dont let the Curry part scare you off. It was wicked flavorful but but spicy. Very satisfied. Woman who helped us was super sweet too!

The food was good and had enough to take home for later. The pricing wasnt what the menu said and the owner/cashier said she couldnt give an intemized receipt so we felt played.

A decent spot and very tasty food and the owner or staff were great people. The only reason I give it a 4 star was due to the cost which on the sign it said one thing but when it came time to pay it seems the patron just added some arbitrary numbers which even when I calculated it made no sense but I paid and made no scene. Lets see 2 small or was it medium carry out boxes combination oxtail and brown stew chicken and two drinks $43.... oh and I add a $5 tip so $48.Lesson for today ask for an itemized receipt before hand and ask to clearly explain odd prices. So do I recommend this spot, most certainly recommend checking it out as their food was good but make sure you to ask them to explain the combination plates and or anything else. Enjoy.

Finally found great Jamaican food! Travelled all the way from Austin to try 1 Luv and it did not disappoint. The oxtail, curry goat and beef patties were awesome!! Wish they had rice n peas or soup but we came by pretty late. Will be back for sure!! staff was very friendly and the place is clean. I did not care for the sides.. but the rice was decent... I do recommend!

Honest post here, the food was just okay. Price is right and all that but the oxtails were not that great. I heard the dude pop it out of the microwave I already knew it would be only okay. Im used to authentic made same day in a roasting pot oxtails...first time having microwaved ones and I wasnt pleased. Sadly I will not be returning.

The oxtails are aaaamaaziiinnggg!!! And they have all the curry staples, patties, Vita Malt and some other island drinks!!! Def recommended!!!

I am very happy and satisfied! Portions are plenty. I ordered Oxtails and Jerk Chicken. The food was very flavorful!! Meat is tender! Definitely coming back whenever I want Caribbean Food!

Great food! I used to frequent Ava’s Jamaican Restaurant but I think the business is under new management and I can tell. Food is nowhere as good anymore and customer service when I visited was less then par. So on my quest to find a new Island restaurant I stumbled upon 1Luv...thank you Jesus is all I can say...this place is bomb ,seasonings are bomb, and customer service is great. This is my new spot...love the oxtails yassss

I normally dont leave bad reviews, but this place is not one of my favourites. The food was pretty good but the service was lacking. The owner made it seem like that we needed to order from the items she had readily available and that it was an issue to have her make something that wasnt on hand already. The disgruntled sigh and eye roll I received after choosing a shrimp dish she had to make has made me reluctant to ever return here. It wasnt even late in the day, it was early afternoon. I dont know why it was an issue. It might have been because she had friends in there that she was conversing with and she had to stop talking to them while she made my boyfriends and I food. His curry goat was pretty good, but there was more bone than actual meat. I had the buttered shrimp, it wasnt bad but NOWHERE near as gobsmackingly delicious as Chef Ras. If youre reading this review trying to decide between here and Chef Ras, go to Chef Ras. Its only like a three minute drive from 1luv and the service, sheer quality of product, and general vibe is worth it. Plus the price is a lot cheaper.

So. Im from Miami and lived in Philadelphia for few years as well. Never have I ever had oxtails with rice & peas for me to have oxtails left over after eating my my rice!!!!! The price you pay is so worth it! They taste is so flavorful and taste like I it was a homemade meal. Though I took my plate to go, sitting and waiting for my coworker to make her mind up, the atmosphere was very calm. Only thing Id say was a down fall, is I showed up at 2:30/3pm and I wasnt able to get fried fish when I showed up because the cook was gone for the day thats the only reason why I gave it a 4 star vs a 5.

Service was flawless didnt wait long upon my arrival. Its been very hard to find quality jerk chicken and ox tails but that problem is now solved. The depth of flavor and seasoning on there chicken and ox tails is second to none. Very nice environment with smooth jamaican music.

I have been coming here for about two years, regularly, because the jerk chicken they serve is incredible. The food is fresh, filling, and absolutely delicious. Every time.Not only that, but management here is very kind and appreciative of regular customers, which is a sign of great hospitality and good business.The jerk chicken is literally the only dish Ive ever had here, but its the only one I need to rate this restaurant at five stars.This is one of the best restaurants in Killeen.

I ate here for the 1st time today. It was sooo good. I had the Curry Chicken. It was so tender and fell off the bone. The curry was perfect on it. Normally my stomach acts up with any kind of sauce I eat, but this was a milder curry, and it caused me no problems. The rice and beans were very flavorful. Loved the little plantains it came with, and the side of cabbage. I have zero complaints about any of it. It was YUMMY!! I will be coming here again in the near future. Thank you for the wonderful lunch, and very friendly service.

Hands down the best Jamacian food Ive had since I went to Jamaica on vacation. So glad to taste the island again closer to home. Everything on the menu is delicious, but try the oxtail if youve never had it before - its worth the money! The owner is friendly and the staff are very attentive. Ill drive from Austin anytime for this!

This is a small restaurant, delivering real food. I got there close to closing time and there was only a little left on the menu. Some items just cant be cooked up at closing time. Go early for best options.That said, Zion was more than reasonable on price. Jerk chicken was nice, heat decent. Got mild for kids, they were sniffing, but survived just fine. Also had the brown stew chicken. Nice flavor. Will have to go back when more of the menu is available to try. My fault for being there so late.
