1826 Adare - Restaurant in Limerick, Ireland
Brilliant food and service from Wade & Elaine.
Excellent dinner. Well run restaurant.
My fiance and I had the pleasure of dining at 1826 and we cant stop talking about how much we love this restaurant. For starters we had the beer battered monkfish scampi, heirloom tomato & mozzarella and for entrees we both had the braised short rib. We finished our meal with the chocolate and walnut tart & eton mess. The tomato & mozz was SO fresh, the garlic chive aioli that the fish came with was so delicious and my goodness that braised short rib was the best ive ever had. It was cooked to absolute perfection and the sauce that it came with was SO rich and flavorful. I mean this meat was ridiculously tender, WOW! For dessert, the chocolate and walnut tart is a MUST have! The texture, the flavor and the ice cream were all spot on. Not too sweet and not bland at all, just perfect! I want some now just thinking about it.Lastly i cant end this review without mentioning the ambiance and customer service. The combination of the old cottage esthetic mixed with the warmth of the staff, was the cherry on top! They were so friendly and made us feel super welcomed the second we stepped foot in the place. We took the 25 minute trip from city centre Limerick for this meal and it was well worth it! Cant wait to come back <3
Top class super food great service
The Staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend the St. Gola goat curd and the glazed beef short rib, these dishes were both bursting with flavour
I will keep this plain and simple. Absolutely everything was 10 out of 10!!!!
Went to 1826 with my husband for our 19th wedding anniversary. Had a beautiful meal and the service was great. Will definitely be back.
First class meal, each course a delight to the palate, Well done Wade! We will be back.
Not sure how this is on the Michelin recommended guide… decor is dull, and food is mediocre. I was also refused being able to order 2 starters as a main…. Don’t recommend.
Food was excellent- some of the best Ive had in a long time. Only thing that disappointed was the wine - I ordered two different wines and couldnt finish either. But lovely restaurant and very nice people.
Great service, staff and food. Had the Hake and Fish Pie
Just had the most amazing celebration meal at 1826 hosted by Wade & Elaine with guest chef Mark Moriarty. Superb from start to finish as you expect from the 1826 team, its always 5 star produce and service.
Absolutely delicious food and great service
Food is here is always excellent, lovely setting also. Would highly recommend for any occasion!
Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Superb food. Id have lived a little bit of bread to mop up the delicious sauce. A revisit is on the cards.
Had a lovely dinner with my wife. Just a bit disappointed that when I asked for a whisky glass they didnt have any... Which I find very oddBut the night and dinner was great!
Hello booked for 03/03 Thursday service. we ordered 3 starters and 4 different dishes. WE received treacle bread which was stale (like from last sunday ), the food was average (like your average pub food but overpriced. I am especially referring to the FISH PIE, which was esentially bland chowder full of fish pieces covered in panko crumbs with egg on the top . the fennel salad accompanying this was average with no flavour zero dressing and not well thought out flavour wise. absolutely nothing interesting in this dish, the execution was average, no flavour and overpriced. The second dish was sole on the bone, the presentaiton was poor, just fish on the plate and sauce.. flavour wise ok but we have had to order some side dishes to accompany it (so 32 eu plus 4.50 plus 4.50 to have a dish that can feed you. that is overpriced for quality and amount of foood you receive. again the presentation and flavour is AVERAGE. third dish was the korean chicken, well executed ok but no crispy skin on the chicken as it should be and no accompanying salad or anything. bare chicken literallly. So TIGHT.Last dish and it was GOOD was the lamb, well executed loads of things on the dish, well presented some thought out flavours.... same for pudding starter, I can recommend that. as for starters, the monkfish scampi was average, and the crab salad was average. Nothing great about this place. just save yourselves money and go to the GOOD ROOM in adare or THE MUSTARD SEED in adare for more posh experience. This place was my worst dining experience in so called 5 star restaurants in ireland (been here 15 years)WE LEFT WITHOUT ORDERING DESERTS BECAUSE WE WERE SO DISSAPOINTED BY THE FOOD. So average, so tight so poor and OVERPRICED for what they present on the plate. Money making pit. essentially
Have to give this restaurant 1826 in Adare owned by Wade and Elaine 💯 for everything. Absolute pleasure being in their premises yesterday evening and they were excellent hosts, and given that my partner is vegan, Wade came up with a vegan dish that even I would have eaten (had the steak instead which was to die for 😋but would definitely try the vegan dish next time! Thanks Wade & Elaine 👌👏👍
A special evening of great food and lovely ambiance ... attentive staff throughout
Really tasty food and excellent staff. Overall great value as well for the price. Definitely among the best restaurants in the Limerick area.
Best dinner experience in Adare, and we werent surprised to find out that the chef here has won many awards for his talent. We had the cured salmon and the crab salad for appetizers, both were exceptional. For mains, Id highly encourage you to try the Korean fried chicken. I know, I was skeptical of ordering Korean fried chicken in an Irish establishment too, but the chicken was so tender and juicy, and the sauce was the perfect combination of smoky and sweet.
I recently went here in a visit to Adare. The food was exceptional. The mussel starter was the best Ive ever had. Loved the food
Just back from dinner in 1826 fantastic food fantastic service ,staff everything about the restaurant was amazing we had chicken liver pate was like whipped cream so light n fluffy the mussels so tasty then Korean chicken n halibut so flavoursome the churrios and ice cream sandwich with fruity sauvion blanc to wash it all down cant wait to go back again been there a few times standards never drop had nice chat with Elaine on way out wish them every success great to see they were busy kieran and Paula Lynch
We popped in on our way back to Dublin for an impromptu glass of wine and nibble and we were accommodated so beautifully by the lovely Caroline, despite a busy restaurant - we sampled probably the best fish “fingers” I have tasted. Wade came out and greeted us and the whole experience was just fabulous. If only we had had more time, but we will be back. Beautiful food, beautiful service, and a lovely end to our day.. a must visit.
The food here is fantastic. Good quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. Good selection of dishes on the menu and of drinks also. The rustic old cottage setting tops it off nicely.Priced very reasonably for the quality you receive.
A truly excellent 1826 takeaway -a superb offering -beef/fishpie amazing-It was as good as dining INHOUSE!Do support-Delightful!
Superb meal and service! The best Hake I have ever eaten in any restaurant in Munster. Very hard beat.
This place is definitely worthed for visit. Amazing food and excellent service. All the ingredients are fresh and from local suppliers
Just amazing in every way. Food was the best Ive ever tasted, gorgeous fish, the pancetta was so delicious too. Such attentive owners and staff.
Meal very poor. One guest got roast beef which was very tough and could not eat it. Vet expensive for what we got.
The food was amazing, staff its so frendley and helpful. Great expirence i recomand this place .
Excellent food, lovely staff, had a very enjoyable meal there.
From the minute you walk through the door the natural light through the French doors to the terrace highlight the beautiful dark wood of the generous tables. The contrast of the white wages stone walls and the soft grey paint on the chairs set the scene and create a light filled ambience that softens as the sun goes down. The stage is set for the star of the show, the menu. Flavours dance across the palate as textures playfully enhance this eating experience, the vegeterian platter with its Indian influences brings a Bollywood worthy performance to the diner. St Tola Goats Cheese dances with a beetroot carpacchio, the specials are as described, special. An amazing foodie destination with all the locally produced fresh ingredients to make your food soul sing.
Treat yourself to a wonderful meal. Delicious and perfect portion sizes. Food locally souced which shows the quality in the area. Staff very friendly and a lovely atmosphere. Great dining experience.
Simply a fantastic restaurant; the atmosphere is great, the staff are so friendly, and the food is superb! Highly recommended!! It is clear to see why they have won so many awards!!
It lives up to all the awards received. The Food is outstanding, a treat. Chef is gifted and staff great. Enjoy.
Great restaurant, consistently excellent food and service. Highly recommended.
Reception was welcoming and our waitress was extremely attentive. The food was amazing, deep fried oysters the flavours were all as mentioned on the menu, chili and lemon, hot and xesty. The hake, now the crusty skin made this the nicest fish i have ever had, and very generous portion as well. Vegetables were beautifully sweet with the spuds just right. Desert was scrumptious and we were not chased out even thougb i imagine it was close to closing up. Many thanks for a lovely evening.
Supposedly must be a place to stop for, stopped here for food on the way back to Dublin. Staff are nice, place was filled with a load of overly omagosh tourists so was fairly noisy. Food was meh.
Went there for Sunday late lunch ,thought the food tasted very good ,portions were not good for the prices that are charged ,waitress offered some more bread whch I accepted as portions being small it would be a filler only to discover We were charged an extra €1.50 for a small slice of bread 😕 not good for business I thnk ? Overall wouldn’t go back as way over priced for what you get and tge bread was a big turn off 👎
I went to this restaurant tonight with high expectations but unfortunately despite the hype it was nothing to write home about .....both starter and main courses were lacking taste and presentation was non existent. The dessert was better, but compared to other cheaper restaurants I have been to, mediocre in comparison. Both house wines, the Chardonnay and the Sauvignon blanc, were tasteless and not sufficiently chilled. All in all a disappointing meal and unfortunately we dont intend to be back.
Great atmosphere but the friendless of staff really makes the experience wonderful
Obnoxious young waiter (fair blond hair)Didn’t think campbells soup was usually served in Michelin star restaurants? Very average food. Way over priced.Go next door.
Over zealous service felt rushed for table of 6 friends out on special night. Food well presented but over worked. Slightly dissapointed with menu choice and experience overall.
Excellent meal .I loved the carrot ginger soup and the fish.
My husband and I celebrated Valentine’s Day here! Dinner was amazing! From start to finish, the service was superb and everything we ordered was delicious! I would definitely come back another time :One of my favorite places to eat in Limerick!
Fantastic food, wonderful atmosphere, excellent staff. Highly recommend.
Its lovely restaurant, but the food although good was not anything extraordinary special. Very nice wines. Pricy.
This was the only restaurant we booked in advance to our trip to Ireland, because our night in Adare fell on our 8th Anniversary. From the moment you approach the restaurant with its idyllic thatched roof, everything about the place is wonderful. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, the service was excellent, and most importantly, the food was wonderful. With a lot of great looking options in Adare to choose from, we were torn over what to book for the occasion and were so glad that we went with 1826. I would love to go back!
Homely quality food served with the freshest of ingredients. Chef ownership is visible and he gets to know his regulars as well as making a good impression on new customers. Well worth a visit.
