11th Street Taphouse Bar & Grille in Virginia Beach

Went there 5pm Saturday evening...waiter was very nice..n on his job...however (the silverware was brought out wrapped in white tag that clearly in large letters said LOSER on it!! Confronted the waiter and asked why was that on there was someone trying to be funny???Younger guy w hair up and shaved around the sides said ( we’ll we have some younger people who think they r being funny)!! Well I don’t think it’s funny at all n BAD business!! Like I said the waiter was nice...I mean what could he say!!!

First off the pizza was not bad. It all goes down hill from here. One of the worst sports bar experiences of my life. My wife and i got there an hour before the NFL games started and told one of the many voids working there what game we would like to watch. When 1 pm hit not only did we not have our game on but they told us there was no signal hmmmmm all the other games were on. The staff seemed to be indifferent to the game i wanted to watch or helping me. I know with the whole COVID thing service can be a little slow, however, the service here seemed extra slow even after the COVID factor. If you are thinking about going to this place do so at your own peril. Thankfully the bar next door had the game on their service was much better and the happy hour menu was awesome!!

Service was bad. Bartenders and servers were gossiping, cussing, and complaining the entire time we were there. Had to find the server to order. Had to get our own ketchup because the one they gave us was empty. While trying to order another server came up and interrupted me. Food was mediocre. Salad was interesting, but nothing special. Sliders were poorly made. McDonalds would have been a better choice. Beer is extremely over priced. View is awesome. Will never go back.

Waited 30 minutes no one ever acknowledged us, just waiting to be put on the waiting list, while the hostess stood over by the waitress drinking. We never did get acknowledged. My other half got a man at the bar to order him a beer, cost almost 9$s, and we went outside to sit at one of the many empty tables.

Buffalo shrimp were amazing, the burger was amazing, food is great. My only complaint is the small menu and highs prices. Only reason Im giving 5 stars is because the buffalo shrimp were unique and amazing. Blue cheese was perfect with them.

Food was good. I had the fish and chips, the fish was nice and flakey and yummy. Wish there was more fish though. Edit* went back the second day to get more fish and chips to go because I liked it so much. Paid a whole $8 more to get another piece of fish (was my only meal the whole daywhen I got back to the hotel the fish was not the same beer battered fish I had the night before. It was covered in seasoning I didnt care for and not battered at all. Very disappointing.

Dinner and service was excelent. I recomend the crab cakes. The wife liked the fish and chips. 1/2 pound steam shrimp for an appetizer was also a good choice.

Location is great. Right on the boardwalk. All else went downhill very fast. As soon as we walked in there was no one at the desk to greet guests. When two hostesses arrived, one went directly to her phone to check social media and payed zero attention to anyone waiting for a table. The other seemed to be caught off guard when we asked for a table for 5. While checking for a table a server came to the desk and said that a table hadn’t been greeted by their server for quite a while... anyway, we were seated outside, looked through the menu and waited. And waited. And waited some more. We were there for about 3 1/2 songs that the entertainment was playing when my wife decided to go inside and find out when we’d be waited on. All they said was, “Oh, OK...” After another 5 minutes, and seeing another table who were seated after us being served, we decide to get up and leave.All I can say about the food is that the menu doesn’t have a ton of options.

Stopped here for lunch today and really enjoyed our visit. We ordered the fish tacos (fried shrimp onesand they were so good!! They have a nice beer selection and a good sized 3 sided bar. They have a big outside seating area which is great but it was very humid today so we sat at the bar. They also have a smoking outside seating area too for those who smoke. And they are dog friendly and provide dog bowls. Overall a good experience!

Both my steak and vegetables were overcooked, but my wife liked her crab cakes. Alas, we cant opine on the she crab soup because it never came. Neither did our waitress appear, except to take our drink orders, our food orders, and our money.

Absolutely terrible service. At first everything started off fine but as the evening went on it quickly went downhill. I ordered the seafood platter. The lump crabcake was dry and disgusting, the gulf shrimp tasted sour. And I couldnt even finish the fish du jour because of how bland it was. Some of the company I was with complained about how their mix drinks barely tasted of alcohol. The server was nowhere to be seen for a majority of the time that we were there. And to top it all off they added the gratuity to the bill automatically. Ive been to many restaurants and never once have they ever just automatically add gratuity to the bill. For mediocre service and terrible food I think gratuity should be the last thing added to the bill.

Our family came here for dinner tonight after a long day at the beach. The Assistant Manager, Brandi was fantastic. She was gracious, kind, and offered phenomenal service-it is always nice to have someone from management stop in and check on your meal, not to mention spend time with us and chat. 😊Our server, Natalie was so sweet. She was open, friendly and had wonderful conversations with our table (we were a 5 top, three of them were children). She was quick with service, and prompt with checking in.I ordered the crab cakes (which is something that I was DYING to have, haha), and they came out AMAZING (I ordered the pan seared). The red mashed potatoes were so good and the vegetables were incredible!Tonight was a fantastic night at the tap house.Thank you, Brandi, Natalie and co.!

Stopped in for lunch and some rum and cokes. We had a very nice time. The server was very friendly. Being from Wisconsin, I had to try a Virginia Beach bratwurst, and they were average though. The place has a good location, nice ambiance and a good place to relax.

I was there Friday, June 21 between 9-10 p.m. and the tall blonde bartender was by far some of the worse customer service I’ve ever seen. Not only was she spend the majority of her time talking to one male customer, she was neglecting all of her other patrons. At least 2 people sat at the bar, didn’t receive service after 10-15 minutes and walked out. I had to get her attention to tell her that she had customers.That is the first gripe, the next is what she said after I paid the check for my cousin and I. “You’re welcome for the free shot, don’t ever come back.” This was said because I didn’t give her a tip. I’m usually a good tipper, I tip 20%+, but I felt the other bartender who was doing bar service for the tables deserved it, because she was kind, friendly and took care of my cousin and I when our bartender was neglecting to do so. So, the I handed the other bartender the tip.At the end of the day, I don’t believe you should say something like that to a paying customer. I’ve worked in the service industry and I know some customers deserve that to be said to, but you don’t say it to them and then you talk about them to your co-workers later or whoever. I am not going to give someone my hard earned money for poor service.I would like to give a higher rating, the food was good and there was a decent selection of beers, I just can’t get passed the horrible service.

Hostess seemed annoyed that we were there. Didn’t want to get off her phone. Provided only two menus for a party of five. After being seated we waited 10 minutes and still had not seen a waiter/waitress. There are plenty of restaurants in the area. This one should should be avoided.

My husband and I were at the oceanfront looking for a bite to eat. The service was excellent, our waitress Kim was very attentive. The food was delicious (highly recommend the pretzel appetizer). We both had burger and fries, very delicious

If I could give this restaurant NEGATIVE stars, I would, solely based on the service alone. The food was decent. The pretzel appetizer was delicious. However, our server and her attitude throughout the night was terrible enough to ruin the entire experience.We originally had 10 people seated at the beginning of our meal, with 2 additional guest joining later. It began expectedly. We each ordered an appetizer, entree, and a drink. Our waitress grouped our checks by couple/person to make it more efficient or easier, as she saw fit. This is where things began to fall apart. Half of our party received their entrees, then 20 minutes later their appetizers came. The other half our our party neither received any food (appetizer or entreeor notification. The waitress only checked with one half of the table (the side who received foodand walked off before checking with the other side, despite our attempts to get her attention.The first reminder came when I asked for the status of my appetizer. By this time, the first half of the table was already done eating and their plates were being cleared away. My appetizer was finally brought out. The 2 additional guests arrived, approximately 40 minutes after we were first seated, and their orders were taken. The food the last couples order came out of the kitchen before the orders of the latter group half. The waitress was severely infrequent. An order of drinks was never received, despite another reminder.More than an hour after being seated, the third reminder was when another person in our party asked for an update of their meal. As of this moment 3 people had received zero food, 4 people had incomplete orders, and 5 people were already done eating and their plates cleared away. While the remaining food FINALLY came out, our waitress hardly ever came by for the remainder of the meal. No apologies ever about the delay were made.Our checks came. The 20% Service Charge/Tip for large groups is expected, and I am usually happy to accommodate and leave extra; yet, this is the first time I wanted it waived completely. Our waitress most definitely did not deserve an $18 tip. After more waiting, I had to find her to her to let her know our concerns. When I said, "You forgot 3 peoples orders entirely." She replied, "No, I didnt. I gave everyone their food." Yes...after an hour and a half and a reminder. I asked for a discount for the rest of my unhappy party, to which she promptly responded that she could not because I was the only one with concerns. I told her she could ask for herself. When she approached the table, she asked the side that received their food first and with no problems if they had any issues. They said no, and redirected her statement at me from the front of the table: "So, youre the only one with an issue." NO. The 7 people with less-than-unsatisfactory service spoke up. They got a 10% discount applied to their total check. (The food was discounted, not the service charge. So, technically, she received a more-than-deserved tip.)I can only hope tonight was a fluke. Hopefully, this is a one-time occurrence for any future guests, but its enough to deter me and my friends from ever coming back.

Its Friday night of a memorial day weekend so they were somewhat busy. I can understand things not being 100%. Outside was busy. Inside had some empty tables. Seating was quick. Ordering was quick. Time to deliver food, which was just burgers, fairly long. My fiancee ordered her burger medium rare and received it well done. I ordered mine medium well, and it too was well. Basically, if you like your burger well, this is your place. Other than wait for food and consistent well done burger, service and burgers were ok. Time of service was 8:30 and band starts at 10.

Great location, on the beach. Drinks were excellent. However this place needs a facelift. Very dull and uninviting if you were walking down boardwalk. Look around to see what competition is doing, some had full house and Taphouse empty. There is a reason and its not the drinks , nice , clean appearance could change your business . Bartender was A+ hope when we come back next year we see a full house .

Good location, right by the beach. You can eat either inside or outside. Not impressed by the food and customer service. We ordered the NY sirloin and it tasted like it was not seasoned at all. My husband asked for steak sauce which the server never brought, so I had to get it from another table. The server never came back to check if we need anything else.

Location is great, but food and drink were lacking. Asked for steak cooked mesium and got a very dry, well done, tasteless piece of meat. Side selection was limited to mostly unhealthy options. Drinks were mostly ice. My daughter had a burger which came cooked correctly and she liked, so maybe that is their strength. Bill was almost $80 for what felt like a $40 meal. Guess we paid for the location.

Food was great, margaritas are strong, service and security phenomenal. Had the club sandwich and it had thick cut deli meat and was very well made. The bartender and staff are super friendly and the playlist did not disappoint. Prime food location for the Something In the Water Festival!

Atmosphere is chill, nothing special or fancy. Our server was very friendly but didn’t write our orders down, being a server my self this concerned me. Ordered steak medium and it came out well, as well as the burger we ordered. Fish and chips were OK but the fish was anything but “fresh.” Being in a tourist ocean area I’d expect better fish, it was clearly frozen before hand and then deep fried, steak seemed like it was frozen before hand as well. Food was way over priced for its quality. If you wanna spend that much go to Waterman’s or Chix.

Or server John was fantastic! He kept us properly hydrated and laughing!! The food was a little less than desirable.-Quesadilla was not jerk chicken in it. Hostess staff didnt look real happy to be there. Bathroom needed attention. Overall great time with friends watching basketball final four!

Terrible terrible terrible. Our servers forgot our order. Had to come back and ask twice. Our food came before our appetizer. On top of it all our server wouldnt let us eat in peace and kept trying to rush us out. Also referred to us as dudes and bros. Just very unprofessional. Food also wasnt very good cold and had no flavor. Will not return.

Such a good place and decent menu, friendly bartenders and staff. Sabrina had a completely packed bar but was a pro and completely on top of everything, and with a smile and a great attitude. They have to fix the mold smell...its a complete turnoff and ruins what would once again be a great place...

I went to Taphouse Tuesday night for a drink. I ended up staying for hours, eating, meeting other people and having several drinks. The happy hour specials till 6 were great. I loved the wings but the bartender was the best. A funny, smart, beautiful blonde named Laura made an awesome old fashioned and made the time fly by. Thanks for the suggestions and introductions. I will definitely be back every time I am in town.

We go once a year & learned they were under new management & it was “better”. The food was great...we had rockfish & it was delicious; not sure what the seasoning was but you wanted to just keep eating it-the lobster risotto was yummy as well! The service was ridiculously slow. We sat at the bar, got drinks & then it took 20-30 minutes to order our food! It was not that busy. Even when I finally was able to ask Brandon what the fish of the day was, he told me & kept walking! He should have stopped & asked if we wanted to order. After another 5-10 minutes- and mentioning we we were ready- we finally got to place our order! I mentioned that it was ridiculous how long we had to wait. Then after the food it took forever to get our bill waiting for the manager to give us our 10% off; again never once was the restaurant that busy. It was a brutal experience & that was it for us! Old bar staff was WAY better- could handle serving their customers and filling server orders at the well!!

Best place in Virginia Beach. We come here once - twice a year. And we always stop here. Food is great, beer selection is fantastic, and service is always good. The Offshore burger is amazing...

Sunday build your own bloody mary bar. The nachos for two where excellent. More than enough for two. The staff was friendly. We enjoyed watching all the football games.

Enjoyed having lunch here, the employees, and the quality of food. There are a lot of beer options as well! Not overly busy at lunch time, and very easy to find a place to sit and order. I’m amazed it isn’t rated higher than it is!

Small portions. Friendly but slow service. Not worth it for the price. Looks very dirty as well.

My son had a burger (which he devoured). I had a yummy Bloody Mary (with green olives - double yummyand a fresh Cobb Salad all served by a fantastic waiter with great personality! Prices were reasonable, good atmosphere and if youre a beer drinker this would be your heaven!

We ate here two nights in a row. Great food , great atmosphere . Our waitress was awesome she kept coming around making sure we were ok and seeing if we needed anything. Food was great we did not have to wait long and there was 10 of us. Will definitely be back

Food was fine, but wait time was not okay. They sat us down and we waited about 20 minutes for someone to come to our table and thats ONLY because I had to stop a random server. She saw us sitting down but never approached us she said she didnt know who our server was but shell take our table since its a win for her. If i didnt grab someones attention my family and I probably would have sat there. They sat us outside and there was 2 servers out there.

Long wait for food. Crab cakes and a shrimp and fish plate. 86 tarter sauce (i dont know how that happens when youre restaurant is on the beach). The wait staff was good but not looking to go above and beyond. Environment was so so... a lot of looks at my family because we had two toddlers, and at times they were a bit sporadic. I wont return... but dont let that stop you. Hope this helps.

Pretty sure our waiter was a bit on the slow side , couldnt count past 5 there was 7 of us and only 5 drinks were brought out. Took an hour to get food and a refill for our drinks. The hot food was served cold and the food that was supposed to be cold came out warm. Then we asked for 5 boxes to take home left overs and he brought out 2 boxes. I had to ask another waiter to get me the other 3. And that was on top of being rushed to order food. The band they had was pretty amazing though !

Absolute horrible experience tonight!Should have known better when we told the hostess there were six of us and we had to put our own tables and chairs together to accommodate 6. After ordering it took 40 minutes to cook 6 hamburgers & fries all while during this time the waitress never came to see if we needed anything. Ticket comes for $94, we hand the waitress a buy one entree, get one 1/2 off & she says that she doesnt think we can use it because it was a little after 6:00...which the coupon did say between 4-6 BUT we ordered between that time & cant help that their service sucks & food took so long to be served. They were not busy at all either. We eat here every year we are at VA beach, but will not be back again.

Good bar atmosphere. Very busy for a Sunday night, not a seat at the bar. Friendly and efficient service. Menu had some intriguing choices, like the crab and guacamole- definitely delicious-so much crab in the she crab soup. I he tuna is amazing and the dressing on the spinach salad is incredible.and prices seemed typical beach prices for a hotel. Nice outdoor patio.

Came here during Virginia Beach restaurant week my first visit here. It was very busy so there was a short wait. Once we were seated the waitress came over pretty quickly. We placed our drink orders and then we never saw our waitress again. Waited about 20 mins then we left. Will not be coming back.

Visited the bar and grille two days ago, was very disappointed for the first time and l have been visiting this bar and grille for a year and a half now. They changed their menu and that was their first mistake. What kind of place, especially a bar and grille and a person cant order chicken wings, they now serve the boneless ones and they were tiny and hard and just thrown in the box. The fries looked like they were just sitting there for awhile, our order was wrong, we did not get everything we ordered until we went back the second time.Never had a problem with this restaurant but l think the next time l stay at the Hotel, l will have to check out other places to eat within walking distances. Get your old menu back Tap House, keep what works.

NO. Way to expensive $$$$. I highly suggest not to go here. The only thing good was the mussels. The shrimp in the salad tasted like it was out of a frozen bag, the deep fried onions on the salad was cold (made long time before and was soggyand then wing sauce was way too sweet and tasted like it was out of a bottle. Not a happy camper with this place. Two stars for mussels and beer. Other than it would be 1.

Food was amazing!!! Both of our servers Sean and Lizzy were great. Highly recommend the fish tacos!! First time in Virgina beach with be back and will return here.

I had hopes for this place seeing good reviews; but when we get there, the hostess seemed annoyed with us. The waitress took forever to come to our table and then was very inattentive. I dont think she said more than 10 different words to us, and we were there an hour. The table was filthy... for example the condensation off my husbands water glass had a ring of white liquid left on the dark wood tables when he picked it up. Not to mention the table tops were very sticky. We both ordered the Fish and Chips. Only part of that that was edible were the fries. The fish was so overcooked and unseasoned that I couldnt eat it. If we go back to the beach, we definitely wont come back here. The two star is for the view alone... its right there on the beach with an outdoor seating to enjoy it. We sat inside.

They have a dog friendly section of the patio. We brought our dog and they gave him a biscuit and we requested a bowl of water for him. We brought a blanket for him to lay on.

Great late nite beer and food. Bacon Wrapped Salmon was excellent. Even the sides were great. Beer selection was pretty impressive. Josie our server was FANTASTIC. We were in a large group and she kept all the bills separate and my cup never went dry. Well done, low key and great live music. Loved our experience.

Busy and on top of their game.We came in midday during the Neptune Fest,as did everyone else on the beach, at once.The hostess was very friendly to us all while dealing with hostile guests complaining over wait times. We were seated quickly and while we were informed that our food might take a while we got our app in relatively short time and had no complaints with the time on our food.Our waitress was friendly and after hearing it was my sons birthday spoke to my wife about a complimentary dessert for him. He loved it and we will be back next year. This is our second time to eat here and both times the food has been the best weve had on the strip/boardwalk.

This place is great. Sat outside and had drinks and apps for hours. There was no rushing us and the service was great. You have to try the wings buy be wary of Neptunes Wing sauce. It is hot!!

No hostess when we arrived. The two of us were seated outside as requested. 10 minutes before a server spoke to us after all 3 on the patio passed our table multiple times. Ordered a beer each, water each, and two meals. Iceberg salad with shrimp and the Wipe Out sandwich. Took 4-5 min for beers, no water. 10-15 minutes more for food, then asked for water again and got it. Sandwich was cold and fries were luke warm, salad had 3, yes 3, shrimp for the additional $5. Great location, great looking place. NO SERVICE, BAD FOOD. Ugh.
