1 Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach
Description
Beautiful hotel, large rooms, many dining options, rooftop, beach front, central location. One of the best places to stay in Miami. Highly recommended.
MoreIn my opinion, this property is overrated for Miami Beach. We’ve stayed at 5 star properties around the world and have experienced many genuine 5 star properties. This property feels a little dated, the staff is cold and almost robotic. There is no charisma, no character, it’s just very bland overall. It feels like a giant cash register that invites you in, takes your money and then sends you on your way. The amenities are pretty but overall the vibe is cold & bland. As I was checking into the pool, another guest reached over me to fill her water cup and as she overfilled it & spilled water all over my new Dior slides, she looked at me as if I was in the wrong. Very unpleasant overall.
MoreI have stayed here over 5 times in the last year. The level of service has become horrendous — Staff do not seem to care about your experience. For 3 days, the elevators had a weird smell and no one did anything about it. For the cost, the service was completely unacceptable
MoreBest hotel experience in quite some time! Billed as a 5-star hotel and delivers in every way (service, attentiveness, friendliness, amenities, rooms, cleanliness, dining, pools, gym, etc). Had an absolutely spectacular time and cant wait to return! Biggest sell for me: This was a family vacation (with small kids!!but there was plenty of opportunity to feel 100% adult. Have now been to both the Miami and Brooklyn hotels and nice to see echoes of the brand but completely different experiences.
MoreAbsolutely amazing hotel with all the amenities you could ask for! The rooms are clean, albeit a little loud with the nightlife! The lobby is warm and welcoming and the staff is super friendly. The pool area is beautiful and well staffed! Would highly recommend to everyone!
MoreMy husband and I spent four days at 1 Hotel South Beach for our babymoon and enjoyed every minute. The hotel itself is beautiful and it had everything we needed and more. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in South Beach.
More$15 for a bottle of water at the hotel lobby bar. Ridicules!! Roof top experience is nice however bar drinks are not executed very well. For example, ordering a Negroni and paying top dollar for it, it didn’t contain the proper ingredients. Food quality/taste at the roof top bar was average.
MoreI love the 1 Hotel’s values. I always try to stay here when rates are reasonable. Literally just booked a room in San Fran for next month.I checked out today and This is my 3rd time staying at this property and the other times were fine. This time I was staying under different circumstances. I didn’t leave my room and needed to stay a day and a half due to a late flight and my gf needed to rest due to just getting out of surgery. I tried asking for a late checkout and the lady up front tried to push it as far back as she could even Tried getting approval and was denied. I agreed to pay a half days rate.Since I wasn’t able to leave my room, in-room dining was my go to. I had breakfast and lunch. The Food was sub par and Prices were outrageous. $20 per plate on average. I get it though, it’s Miami. But if I’m paying that much, the food shouldn’t be that uneventful. This morning I was disturbed 4 times with different people walking in on us while my gf was resting. I understand the housekeeper the first time, but then other staff would do the 1 knock and walk in. I would explain to each staff member I purchased a half day. I assume it got lost in communication.Don’t let my one experience curve your decision on choosing this lovely hotel. I believe you can have a great time here. It’s beautiful, everyone is so friendly and the lobby is welcoming.
MoreThis the only hotel we stay at when we travel to Miami .. we like the hotel … but every time we go my 2 years old come back sick from there with the same virus and that happened more than 3 times … it happens only when we get to this hotel we traveled to other hotel in many countrys everything goes except for this place .. and that made us very disappointed.. it will be our last time at one hotel south beach .
Morelegendary place. The best hotel for those who love bohemian style. the food is very good. The rooms are very luxurious and big. The pool, the beach, the service was fantastic. thanks for everything
MoreWow! Great property, service, music & food. I didn’t expect much booking this place; however, upon arrival the staff was very welcoming and kind. Roaming the property you’ll find a great adults only roof top pool, additional pools on the third floor and a beach club! Love the water tap (similar to the ones you find in a hotelin the rooms & nice welcome gestures. True R&R spot in Miami similar to properties in nice properties in tulum. Highly recommend staying here! It’s pricy but worth the dollars.
MoreMy daughter had her diamond pendant necklace stolen from her room (value of a bit over $1,000). After over two months of chasing, the insurance claims people denied the claim. Pathetic because they said they had no proof. Of course there is no proof - no cameras in the rooms. How about a little trust considering how much we spent there? Then they offered me a measly $250 hotel credit. Give me a break!!
MoreMy husband and I absolutely loved this place! We were treated like royalty. I strongly suggest 1Hotel South Beach. You will not regret it. Were already planning our return visit.
MoreI didnt stay in the rooms, but when for Spa Month. The spa and beach area is beautiful and serene, and the messages were incredible. They have an excellent, kind, and professional staff. The masseuse I had, went above and beyond. He knew I had scoliosis immediately and worked my back more, which I appreciated.
MoreFresh decor, friendly staff and high-quality amenities. Would definitely stay here again.Note if you want to go jet-skiing: Check Groupon for best prices and then contact the jet ski operators directly. Do not go through the concierge or any shadowy local “network” to book your excursion. We made that mistake, and the experience was pricy and sketchy.
MoreThis stay was the worst service I have ever received in my life. They put me up in a room that smelled like a cigar parlour and told me I’m crazy for complaining. When they finally switched my room, it was to a room where construction was happening from 9-5 with jackhammers and drills shaking the room. Once again, I asked to be switched and got back to the smoking room. I paid a fortune to be here and the service was horrendous with management telling me that I’m making it up and that I should just deal with it. I’m horrified that this hotel is even considered a 5 star hotel and will never ever stay here or any of their other hotels again. There’s no reason to have to choose between a smoking parlor room or jackhammers on a vacation. Disgusting!
MoreNot that I was a guest, but I a worker. I was technically bullied out of my job. Imagine a bunch of older people bullying a 17 year old. Management doesn’t really care it is like a slap in the wrist and call it a day. Maybe they should be as concerned how the workers are treated just like how much they care about the guest. Just because you raise your concerns doesn’t mean they care it’s all just pretend.
MoreThe bar upstairs is great, good service, great vibe for sunsets! The best best bathrooms in Miami!First-floor bar, beautiful, but very very slow service, the bartender looks super upset, and when other people try to take our order to help us, she gets even more upset 😩
MoreHotel is amazing. The rooftop pool is great, the service is fabulous.Cant say enough about everyone at the roof top pool from the server Aneta and Augustin . .Rooms are spacious, however the lighting needs to ne improved. Had a great vacation at the one abosolutely will return.
MoreHad a great stay here, they offer studios and one bedroom suites with a full kitchen, which is great is you are staying with kids. People there is great. Breakfast is good (though gets repetitive if you go every day). They have valet, which is great and super convenient. Also, the private beach is great, they offer chairs with umbrellas at no cost.
MoreWow! What an experience staying here! I loved everything - the beachfront location with your umbrella and chair waiting for you and yummy foods. I loved their cocktails. My room, balcony, ambience. I don’t think I can stay anywhere else in Miami Beach. Worth the money
MoreThis resort is imacable. As soon as you come to the front doors you are greeted by the doormen who are happy and helpful especially Ron. Amazing individual to just talk to as well can give you some great places for food or entertainment. The concierge team is phenomenal, Abra and the team helped me out from the get go. Made sure my room was ready and provided me all the necessary details of things to do. At the pool side the team was on point, Luis, Brenda, Augustinare just a few of the team members who made sure I was happy at all times. JC also was an amazing individual who always came by to make sure my umbrella was protecting me from the sun or providing me water as well. Checking up on me making sure if I needed any food or drinks. The food at the resort restaurants were delicious. Honestly you dont need to leave to enjoy.Shirley from the rooftop pool was a great individual as well. She would always walk by and make sure I had water, drinks or food or if I needed any new towels etc.1 hotels has out done themselves again, I have visited Toronto, Brooklyn and now Miami. Hands down I am looking forward to visiting them again.
MoreHotel experience was good. However I bought a necklace in the hotel boutique for $4.5k. A diamond fell out of the necklace and it broke in in half 2 weeks after purchase. It was sent off to be fixed. It broke again one day after getting it back. After 3 trips to the hotel to return the defective piece I was given the owner, Inas number to discuss. She stated that she never does returns no matter the issue. After a 1 minute conversation she said I dont care about talking to you regarding this and hung up on me. Be aware of the service you will receive if you choose to shop in the hotel.
MoreWasnt bad but not for us. The elevator system is a disaster. The key fobs were a pain. We usually stay at the ritz, and will be going back next trip
MoreExcellent hotel. I’d give 5 stars - but the level of sexism here is obscure: every time me and my partner interact with anyone from the staff, he is being referred as Mr / Boss/ My Friend, and I am being completely ignored and disregarded as some wh*** picked up on the corner two mins ago. I dont look line one, I hold a Directorial position, and my name is also on the reservation, which certainly allows anyone to read it and refer to me by my name as well; but no. Unacceptable. Even when confronted, they don’t care. Otherwise, amazing hotel. Extremely important to note that everything here is recycled/recyclable. Not sure if we’d come back however.
MoreNicest (most expensivehotel I’ve ever stayed. Service was impeccable. Decor and luxury bedding/ furnishings. I ordered a blanket and duvet same as the room offered. Location perfection. Rooftop pool and restaurant gorgeous. We’ll done.
MoreBiggest issue is that this place is overpriced for what you recieve, spent nearly 10k on a 6 nights stay and you DO NOT GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Service is average at best, everything is dirty, there is very little information provided to you on amenities and just no attention to detail in ALL FACETS of this hotel...very very poor management of a supposedly 5 star resort, i guess theyre making money so they just dont really care, noticed Miami in general isnt really all that worried about hospitality. why dont you focus on the mission of good service and a 5 star experience rather than the facade of sustainability. Everything is over priced and just profit based, I dont care about spending big money but i hate being taken for a fool. 2 star becuase the location is great and it beach is very nice, everything else is a 3.5 out of 10
MoreAbsolutely beautiful boutique Hotel. Everything was gorgeous right down to the signature scent which we liked so much that we brought a candle home to remind us of the trip. Our double king room was spacious and relaxing. The fitness center was truly state of the art and included Olympic lifting equipment, boxing, assault, treadmills, classes and more. If working out wasnt your thing then you could really enjoy the food and bars. The rooftop bar, Watr, was especially impressive. To give you a sense of how much we enjoyed the hotel itself, the first two days of our stay, we endured a tropical storm and didnt care a bit. On our last day, the storm cleared and we enjoyed a few hours of sun at the second floor pool. Across the board, the staff was consistent in their prompt service and the food and drinks were always impressive. Clearly this isnt an inexpensive hotel, but it was an experience Ive never received at any chain hotel I have visited. We are already looking into other 1 hotel locations in Nashville and Toronto for future trips.
MoreThe service, amenities and location are fantastic! Max is also the best photographer ever! And Jailyn was incredibly sweet and welcoming. Cant wait to return. 10/10
MoreThe service here was horrible. Our room was not cleaned for 2 days. We requested an extra towel which took two hours to get there. The mandatory resort fees and required 18% tipping are also absurd given that the teeny boppers stand around the pool chatting amongst themselves. If you can, go to the Caribbean for this price.
MoreThe hotel has a wonderful vibe. The decorations is similar to the W Hotel next door. Very expensive. My only complaint was valet taking my expensive car for a ride w/o my consent. I just happened to take a pic bc I had the same issue in Clearwater. Something like that will keep me from returning unfortunately
MoreWorst experience I have ever had checking into a hotel. We were immediately told that our vehicle could not be parked valet and that we had ten minutes to check in and move it to a parking lot over a half mile away. Out of 7 valets no one offered to help me with my bags. Once we checked into our room we could clearly see parking spots from our window. We called the front desk and we were transferred to the valet and they said those cars were being moved. I made a second phone call and was told that they would move our car there and have a manager call us. Within ten minutes of our phone call they filled up the remaining spots and then called us and said the manager was on the line and said we could not park there and asked us when we were coming to get our vehicle. I spent over $2,000 on my room to be treated so horribly and unwelcomed. I checked out and left forfeiting the money I spent simply not to be treated with such disregard.
MoreWe had an amazing time at 1Hotel South Beach. The whole experience is very refined, from the buzzing, stylish lobby, the rooms, to the impeccable service, different restaurants and swimming pools, the rooftop area, and the impressive, best-in-class gym.Shoutout to Maya on the rooftop bar for the exceptional service!1Hotel is all about a healthy, relaxing mediterranen lifestyle – and you can feel and live it all day everyday!Highly recommended! 🙏
MoreThe experience they are providing doesnt match the cost. The rooms and amenities are average at best. The gym is not open all the time. The crew are amazing. Lots of better options around this area.
MoreOverall our 7 day stay was good but had way higher expectations for the 1 hotel experience. Everything is very limited as far as hours and where to eat though. Every place has different hours not always open if your here for a week half the places are closed Monday-Wednesday or only open for a limited hours. The week we were here the cabana pool area was reserved so we couldn’t access all week. Rooms were nothing compared to what we were expecting, not very clean - a lot of dirt and couch/curtains all stained. Pool towels very noticeably stained. Had high expectations for this resort and the service level but we are a little disappointed. Our room was right outside the elevators and that’s all we heard all hours of the night and morning. Was super annoying to listen to that constant loud beeping. Room service food made us sick. And the lack of options for dining at the resort didn’t help. The shower is a skating rink accident waiting to happen. Shampoo and toiletries in the room are half full the smaller one time use ones are much more preferred. The daybed on the patio which was an expense “upgrade charge” was beyond dirty. The lack of cleanliness is what really turned us off especially for the price we paid. The beach set up your literally sitting on top of people and the amount of seaweed just infront off the hotel is overwhelming. Was not expecting that from a “luxury 5 star hotel” to not maintain the guest grounds. Very expensive and marketed well but really not as luxurious as it looks in photos and Instagram! Four seasons is a much better option!
MoreOne of the best vacation spots we have stayed at in Florida. Some of my biggest takeaways: 1the smell of the hotel is so good that we had to buy one of the candles! 2Try and stay on a side facing the ocean 3reserve dinner reservations a little early and then go to the bar for drinks later 4there is amazing seating in the front lobby. Very fun to watch all of the foreign cars pull in!We will definitely be staying here again.
MoreOne of the best hotels I’ve stayed. All details have been thought through. Service is always on point. Robert from beach area was really nice and attentive. Will be back 100%Thank you!
MoreStayed at a friends place in the Roney Palace which is attached to the 1Hotel. Love the pools and the outdoor lounges. Didnt hit the rooftop this time but hear the sushi is great... I know the music is good as we can hear it from our room. Staff is attentive and do everything to make you feel comfortable and welcome.
MoreThe truth is — it’s a 5 star place, with a 10 star price. The pictures won’t deceive you, The 1 truly is one of the most beautifully-designed hotels in south beach. 🤩 The interior is heavily bohemian inspired with natural woods, warm tones, and earthy wall treatments. The restaurants, boutiques, bars, and the spa within the resort are all equally as airy and beautiful. Be sure to note though — you’ll pay $12 for a coffee and no less than $40 to eat decorative leaves. The rooms are outfitted with sleek, modern finishes and perfect ambiance and accent lighting. My husband and I found the service and the valet to always be incredibly hospitable and eager to help. (As they should be when you’re paying $1500+ a night)The 1 is a huge attraction for tourists from outside of Miami, both within the country and internationally (partially because Miami people won’t entertain their prices). There’s such a plethora of things to do and see within the hotel, you really don’t need to leave to make a trip out of it. What we didn’t know was that South Beach itself, is an absolute dump, extremely dirty and trashy. — definitely an overrated location but ‘The 1’ is a sight for sore eyes.Overall, a very beautiful, memorable experience, just be prepared to pay!!
MoreWas so excited to stay here. Have visited the hotel before and was really looking forward to the relaxed upscale atmosphere. Unfortunately, had several bad experiences that each ruined the overall experience, starting with a plumbing problem which resulted in a room move. When moved to a new room in the middle of the day, the new room hadn’t been inspected and the bathroom was also entirely broken (sink and vanity in middle of bathroom, not attached to the wall). Moved to a 3rd room that was smaller, older, worn, and facing the road instead of the partial ocean view we booked. Hotel management was very “fake” apologetic, but clearly didn’t want to be bothered. Didn’t seem to know how to make such an inconvenience right, even after moving guests to a 4th room in the same day! Lacked basic high end service awareness and experience. Had at least 2 other less significant, but disappointing experiences during a 4 day stay at hotel. For the reputation The One has, expected a more professional reaction to make things right. May give it another try in the future, but if you are looking for the kind of service you will get at The Four Seasons, good chance you won’t find it here.
MoreA truly amazing hotel. The rooms are incredible, the pools are great, the gym is the best hotel gym Ive ever seen, and its right on the beach. It doesnt get better than this!
MoreHábitat for Brunch!! Absolutely amazing, great food, good selection, great service. After Brunch went to a rooftop bar in the same location. Habitat is on Collins, but the restaurant is not ocean front , that would have been preferred . Habitat is recommended 💯
MoreGot ripped off. Spoke with the front desk about room type before booking. Got here, got a different room that did not include what they told me. Tried to change and was told an extra $1000/ night on top of the $1000/ night we were already paying. Ha they also said that was a discounted rate as if they were doing me a favor. There are so many cool places to stay on south beach. Very disappointed with how this was handled. Lost my business for good.
MoreAlthough the hotel is really nice and corresponds to a 5-star hotel, their customer service certainly does not measure up.First, they charged me a fee TWO weeks after my check-out without any notice or explanation, even though I confirmed with the hotel staff during check-out that the amount I was paying was final.Second, they charged me for one breakfast without informing me that (1it was not included in my fare, and (2the price for it (the absurd amount of 107 dollars!). And I sent them an e-mail complaining about it, I receive no proper answer.Very disappointed with their (inexistentcustomer service, Ive been treated better in far less fancy hotels. I would not recommend it nor I would go back.
MorePretty disappointing experience. I’m shocked they charge $1,500/night. Our bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly upon arrival, it was extremely difficult getting tables at the restaurants at the hotel and half the time the restaurants we wanted to go to were closed, the elevator situation is a complete nightmare, they don’t have enough pools and chairs for the amount of guests they house in the hotel so we weren’t able to even use the pool on our trip, and everything is extremely overpriced. The only nice thing was the pretty beach and the outdoor areas of the hotel which were pretty. I would never come here again.
MoreExcellent hotel, beautiful design and great location. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. Once we requested, we got tea maker. The night before we paid $60 for 3 cups of tea!!!Breakfast was nice but exactly the same every day. All personal are very professional and courteous.
MoreWe had a one bedroom suit which was great. Secondly all the restaurant, pool and bar staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Sadly these are the only two positives hence the two star rating.I found the reception and concierge team to be cold and rude. We weren’t shown to our room, just handed a key and left to find our own way. Also we were given zero information about the hotel. Our first night was Valentine’s Day and all but one of the hotels restaurants were shut! We stayed for 4 nights and didn’t manage to get a table for dinner in the hotel! Poor form not to feed your guests! It’s clear the hotel has far too many rooms for its amenities. If it’s so difficult to get a table in the hotel then they should be advising guests to book before traveling or at least on arrival.During our stay, not once did anyone come to clean the room or refresh towels and coffee etc. Eventually had to call down to get the room serviced only to get a disgusted response as they clearly couldn’t be bothered. All menus had draft beer but the whole hotel ran out for over four days, they also had a shortage of tonic for a g&t around the pool. The beach and pool doesn’t have enough room for the number of guests to all be able to enjoy the facilities. All in all disappointing for the amount of money spent but pretty sure the management won’t care one bit.
Morewhat an amazing hotel. it is super expensive but for sure on a different level from any other hotel in miami (and many other places. one note is that the lobby area and valet area are a mess with all the people coming to roof top , pool and just to be seen. i guess it’s part of the ambiance but still makes it feel like a club and maybe another entrance/ guest area only would be nice . there is however enough staff to support
MoreHavent had the chance to stay in this hotel but I was invited to dine in the rooftop. The restaurant and the view is extraordinary. The pool area is beautiful. For sure one of my favorites. The lobby of the hotel is also very convenient for meeting others. The staff is very polite, respectful and resourceful.I will post a more specific review of the room experience once I have the same opportunity to visit.
MoreThe place is absolutely beautiful from the moment you walk through the front doors. Rooftop pool and restaurant has the best views in South Beach. The suite is spacious and very pleasant. The gym and spa is first-class. The restaurants on the ground floor and roof are exceptional, as is the breakfast.I would definitely recommend this spot given you want to experience service at its best. You get what you pay for here……Will definitely be back!
