温根湯ホテル 四季平安の館 in Kitami

Visited only the onsen. Favorite onsen of my Hokkaido trip. Great variety of baths with varying temperatures, exterior baths with space for laying down and also sitting which is crucial for that sweet temperature change in and out of the bath.Finally the bubble bath with true onsen water not the sento stuff is a thing of beauty

Excellent service. They even offer to pick me up and drop off at the Jr rubeshibe station. Some said the place is dated, but I dont find it dated at all. It seems very new. The room is very pretty inside. They even have candle with tea to create a amazing scent in the room.The onsen is very good. I think water is sulfur based from the smell. I especially like the outdoor onsen.If you buy the dinner package, you should choose an earlier time. It seems that they close at 8.30pm.The website is mainly in Japanese. If you choose the English version, there is no booking function. It is better to choose Japanese version and turn on Google translate. When I went, they have a promotion of giving 2000 yen cash back. Make sure you check for the promotion on their website.

The staffs are friendly and helpful with guest request. The onsen facility is one of the better ones in Japan. The room is clean and well maintained despite the hotel age. There is no need to turn on the AC just open the window and the cold air will flow in. This hotel has business with Singapore tour group, I can assure you some of the negative reviews are unnecessary coming from ungrateful and self-entitled people.

Hotel is very old. The room and toilet have very bad smell. Air conditioner not working. The tatami style bed is extremely uncomfortable. I have slept in other tatami style rooms and none of them are uncomfortable like this. Woke up a few times in the middle of the night because of bodyaches. The worst part is there are plenty of bugs in the room. They could have flown in because the previous guests opened the window due to no air-conditioning. Not recommended.
