Hong Kong style fast food restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
Mediocre food (I could only take a few bites of the 乾麵, which was too dry, salty, and laced with bbq sauce), horrible service. Forgotten orders, no water, unwillingness to to help. The hostess was yelling and complaining at us for our young children walking too slowly and making her wait.
Close to original HK flavors. Quite tasty though. I didnt expect much from this restaurant located at an isolated corner. Passed by one time and saw the line. Decided to give it a try. To my surprise, it is packed. Try some basic dishes in tea restaurant. Not bad. The service is as poor as those in tea restaurant in HK. Most customers are young people. Its interesting to see the migration of HK tastes coming to Taipei.
Decent HK dim sum cafe. I find that they do decent food delivery, on UBEREATS. Well packaged and keeps the food tasty. Prices are reasonable. Recommended!
Despite all the bad reviews for slow/bad service or what not, this place has amazing, authentic HK food.
The food is very good and HK Milk tea is the real deal. I love the thin noodles and the beef with vegetables. They are generous with the meat on most dishes. Last time I had food from here it was really oily, like way too much.Beware they usually have long lines and the restaurant is quite small which can make the wait a pain, we usually go on off hours so we can eat quick and in peace.I like this place and eat there frequently.
Hong Kong style food, the price about 250-350/per,dinner time always lineup!
Hungering for some Hong Kong style cantonese food, I ordered the 滑蛋牛肉飯 Smooth Egg and Beef over Rice,Beef Chao Fun 乾炒牛河,Authentic Curry Fish Balls 正宗咖喱魚蛋,and Pork Chop Bun 豬扒包.Seeing the 4.7 rating on UberEats, I was excited to try another cantonese style restaurant after years of disappointment in Taiwan. The only reasons the restaurant received two stars from me are as follows:The Pork Chop Bun 豬扒包 was passable. The meat was well seasoned/marinated. The bun was the right consistency and flavor. The food arrived and was edible.I didnt die while eating. If it wasnt for the above, I would give this restaurant chain 0 stars. Smooth Egg and Beef over Rice was an absolute travesty. It wasnt even滑蛋 Smooth Egg. The egg is supposed to be runny and wet in consistency. What arrived was like a fried egg. There was a lack of overall flavor too even with the pooling soy suace/brown sauce at the bottom of the rice. Dont get me even started on the state of the beef. The beef cuts poorly chosen. They used the same beef for the Beef Chao Fun That and a certain lack of MSG and that they used over cooked Hefun to make the dish made it near inedible. Will not order ever again. Will not visit the restaurant now.A begrudgingly kind 2 stars out of 5.
Honestly deserves no recommendations nor any ranking. The food was gross (very oilyand the attendants were truly unprofessional and impolite too. Will never patronize it again.
Chickens feet is good. Rest is average. Low prices for Zhongshan. Popular with the young crowd. Service very good.
Bad food, bad service. Everything is too oily that if American knows this place, probably they will invade it. If you want good food and being served well, go somewhere else
Took over 30 minutes for a bowl of rice....
The good:Not bad with the food. Comparable to competitors. The bad:- Terrible service. Called the waitress three times just to deliver water and basic silverware.- Very tight seats. Barely any privacy. I know this is the norm with Cantonese restaurants but this place takes it to the next level. Its like you have to eat with strangers face to face, side by side.- Loud, super noisy. With the amount of noises cramped up and bouncing around the walls you cant really chill and talk here. You cant just have a cup of tea with snacks.- Adding on top of that, you got time limit (I know its the norm, but its like youre eating while youre in the conscription service)Dont be fooled by the queue and the line. We know Taiwanese people love to get in queue for something basic. Especially young Taiwanese people who havent travelled out of the country much. (No disrespect because I am Taiwanese so I know the logistics.)Not recommended. Even Honolulu has better space, service and cost-performance value.
Authentic hk taste! Love the milk tea full of tea favor and you can add sugar on your own! Egg rice with shrimp and pork is tasty with thai rice not taiwanese rice
Best Ab&b ever! Wonderful hosts. Great breakfast - fresh, abundant, variety. Very comfortable place. AC in all rooms. Bikes to borrow. Clean. Almost brand new. Even has an elevator for just 3 floors! Base of hill/mountain so quiet. Only drawback is its 10 to 15 minutes walk from downtown puli. So best to have a car.
Food is okay, restaurant is very small with limited seating. The price is acceptable but it’s really not worthwhile waiting 30-40mins inline to get foods.
Terrible dishes and crowded environment not even deserve 1 star
Its not fair to queue up to call the number, always let the people behind jump into the store
Just average.
Best Hong Kong style food I’ve had in a long time!!! I think everything is quite authentic and the price is fair. Although the line can be long sometimes, I think it’s worth the wait. The staff is inattentive (always on their phones loland location is kinda strange (in an apartment building and you can tell the arrangement IS an apartmentbut whatever I’m here for the food 🤩 highly recommended!
Too costly
The place smells like a humid closet. Food is okay, not great. Server doesnt know their own menu thoroughly.
Fast food maybe
Staffs are friendly but they will keep reminding you the time you have for your meal. (It is 1 hrIt is acceptable because the restaurant is really not big. You have to order on the street. After the order, they will lead you to upstairs where the seats are. And...cash only. Food is good, but the price is a little higher than expected. Overall, it is a very interesting dining experience.
They limited us that only can stay one hour in the restaurant, but we waited for the cuisines more than 20mins... server even reminded us to leave before we finished the food... that’s really rude
With only about 30 seats, this small Cantonese style tea house has been popular. Got there 20 min before opening, there were 15 people waiting in line already. The milk tea, hot and cold were both excellent, authentic, flavors and taste! The hand cut daikon steamed cake was excellent in both texture and flavors. Also liked the rice porridge, good texture, not too thick. The pork spare ribs with black bean rice was pretty good. Beef with Chinese broccoli was ok. Overall, really liked everything. Seatings were right though and very noisy!
Awesome place, we are there in early dinner time around 17:20 PM, but this famous restaurant is full. We need stand a line. Fortunately, the flavor of food is worthy to waiting. Rice with Pork and Shrimps is good. Rice with Pork steak is also good. Be patient for this restaurant during lunchtime and dinner.
Great food as always, taste similar as other branches, but a bit crowded. Couldnt really relax and enjoy the food here. Really recommended the owner to rethink on seating and querying arrangement, maybe to put that online and let customers to get their seats and place orders before they dropped by the restaurant, maybe, maybe that could help 😘
Food is ok
Decent food but the place is way too small
Good food but expect waiting
Tried the shrimps rice. The tasting is ok and reasonably priced. Seating is a bit limited.
Been here twice. Like other reviews mentioned, if you are going on weekends, try to avoid the busy hours. The first time we went was at 4pm, waited for 5 minutes. The second time I went was at 5pm, and we queued for 30 minutes. Both on weekends. They don’t take reservations. The lady who is handling the queue is impatient and a bit rude(this is Hong Kong food place so it’s expected). The food is definitely worth coming for second, third times.
I hate queuing but it is totally worth it. Heavenly food and beverages, better than many I had in Hong Kong.
No system for queuing
If you are looking for kantonese food that tastes like one, and not too pricy, you are at the right place. We’ve tried their set, drinks and sweets, none let me down. But you should be aware of the portion that is a bit large, sharing with friends could be nice. Generally recommended.
Foods are fine there
Nice
Not bad
Waiting for an hour. Food is delicious.
Carrots cake is awesome
Business hour says it closes at 22:00, but actually their kitchen will stop working from 21:20 😧
The staff is really friendly and will be the only reason to return, the food selection is good but the taste of what we order was not what we expected, no flavor, extremely oily ( even for Cantonese food and some parts of the food were cold.Although go and experience yourself I know the place is popular, maybe I went in a bad day
Average
B-)
Can not do reservation before u arrive.Place is too narrow. But the feeling just like be in Hong Kong.Is too many people came here for food. It take a while to get a table for two.The food have some Taiwanese style, but that good!Official review 7/10
Takes a little while for the orders to cook, but tasty fare and quite affordable. Come early for lunch, because this place is always packed out.
Food here are normal, absolutely no Hong-Kong flavor although they said they are HK restaurant. Dont know why so many people said its good.
Good
