'NAMO Italian Restaurant - Italian restaurant in Thanh pho Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
The advertising closing time is 11pm. This is the second time they have not surved me before then. The first time i can understand because it was around 10 30 early in the week but tonight it isnt even 10pm. I wont bother again
Delicious pizzas and pastas! The pizza crust is superb! Slightly salted, a little bit of a sourdough finish and wood fired. Stunning. Classy atmosphere, kind, hospitable and lovely staff. Make sure to take your own water, you have to buy glass bottled water. I chose to just drink wine. Wide and delicious range of wines to choose from. Come and enjoy a lovely dinner with a group of friends or an intimate night out with a loved one.
Authentic Italian food, atmosphere is especially attractive
If you like average food for inflated prices. This is your place.Asked for water, 120,000 slapped on the bill. Probably the most expensive water in saigon.Staff and service are very good, its the only reason it gets any stars.Peace
Okay food but insanely priced! For their prices I would expect much better quality (particularly the steaks and pizzas). The festive season offer is definitely not worth it
I had a high hope for this place located right in front of a 5 stars hotel. Everything was very average sadly.. The burrata on the pizza wasn’t fresh which disappointed me enough to only eat half of the Parma Ham Pizza. Pizza 4P’s is still a better choice and less expensive at this time.
The pizza is good and service is amazing.I’m coming back for the pasta!
Enough choices for vegetarians. The after noon 2 course menu cost around 230000, the three courses one cost about 2900000. Very good price I would say, no drink is included.Their pizza is what I would highly recommend very thin crust although not sour dough, its proper wood fire pizza. Their pasta is good too. Just that the tiramisu that comes with the lunch menu is a bit small and mediocre.
A bit pricey but delicious food! I loved their coconut water!!
Excellent place, Excellent food. The portion sizes were perhaps a little small for the size, but the taste of all dishes were amazing. We were looking for vegetarian dishes so we tried the Cauliflower Gratin (very nice), Tomato Bruschetta (okay), Fussili Pesto, Truffle Mushroom Pasta, Margherita Pizza with added veggies and Pumpkin Soup (stand out dish).
Great meal. Enjoyed octopus, meatballs and truffled chicken.
Had the lamb and the pesto pasta. Pesto lacked much flavor as did the lamb. I do think the lamb was cooked very well. However for the price, I have to give it only 3 stars.
Service and serving were 5* staff definitely know what they are doing. Food is very good quality. Design is cozy and friendly. Look at that massive Calzone 😍
Lovely flavours. Eye-wateringly expensive. I asked for my starter to come as a main twice but it came as a starter so I had to sit hungrily and watch everyone else eat. Pizzas looked good but I probably wouldnt return because of the price.
It’s my first time to have Italian food in HCM; the restaurant got a nice entry with the wood oven and open kitchen on the left; staff very gentle, I had a very nice dinner with authentic Italian taste. Parma ham was delicious and so the pizza.I’ll back again.
Its ok is about right. Looked good from the outside and the greeting was effusive , even if we did not understand it . However we waited too long between sitting down and getting the menu ( singular being told , just a minute , then a second menu , eventually. The table behind us arrived after us and got served before us. After eventually ordering the two pizzas arrived separately , 6 or 7 minutes apart . They were ok but I wont go back . Price was ok too . Too much time spent on showy hand gestures , and pouring your drinks, and not enough time actually spent on serving the customer .
Meal is great, I like the pizza and pasta. The pizza is the best in HCMC. The price is fair to the space and service. I will come back all the time.
Delicious, creative, entertaining and remarkable. This restaurant is one of the best high-end Italian restaurants in Hochiminh. Has an open kitchen where you can see how your food is cooks, a countertop and some tables on the second floor if you want some personal space.I would highly recommend this pasta dish with lasagna pasta and pork stirfry, so delicious and so elegant, pair it with white wine..They also give me free Limoncello after the three courses, such a quality service, LOVE IT.
Great food, shared the eggplant moussaka as a starter and my partner and myself chose pizzas as mains. Its a restaurant that accommodates half&half 👍which allowed me to get the margherita and the 4 cheese. Such a good choice, the 4 cheese was amazing. You are given warm bread as an appetizer which comes with anchovy butter/sauce - its a nice touch, but a pre-warning would have been nice for vegetarians.Modern design, maybe a few too many tables so youre sat pretty close to other diners, we were sat next to some Americans and their conversation took over. Not really much Namo could do about that 😄 just trivial. The staff were really nice., helpful with suggestions and takeaways. Getting drinks was slow, but the drinks were pretty good, and food was delightful. Will be back again for sure.
Food is just okay not very fantastic. Good for romantic dates.
Nice place & nice foodsI will be back with my special man 😊
Wonderful Dinner 🍷Michelin Star Chef from Singapore presented a 4 course meal on a 5* level.
We loved the food in this restaurant and returned many times.
We had to wait a long time for our food. The pizza was just average but at a very high price. There are several decent Pizzeria (e.g. 4P or Pendolascowhere you get a better pizza for much less (30% or even 50% less). The dessert (chocolate lava cake and a Tiramisu, very creamy, probably the best Ive eaten in Saigonwere delicious.
Professional scammersI was attracted to this restaurant by an outside board (see photoproposing a lunch set that includes two plates (to choosefor 230,000 Dong. There are other Italian restaurants in this zone which are proposing a lunch deal for just 190,000 Dong, but I wanted to give it a try, I like Italian food and I have tried a lot of Italian restaurants in Vietnam and in Saigon. You immediately feel that this restaurant is positioning itself as an upscale one, by the decor, the prices and the waiter who arranges the napkin on your knees without being asked. Let’s call this waiter, “waiter number 1”, because later another waiter gets involved somehow. I told the waiter that I wanted the lunch deal with the two dishes (there is also a deal with three). When he showed me the menu I asked which dishes I could choose for the deal. He proposed me to choose one from the salads and one from the pasta or pizzas. I chose vegetarian options with his aid, he knew very well the menu, he was not a new staff member. Then I asked about the drink, I wanted to know if a drink was included in the set menu. He said no. So I looked for a drink and noticed that the cheapest water was 90,000 Dong, a very rare price for water in Vietnam. I asked (complained tohim : “with a drink of 90,000 Dong, the set menu of 230,000 is becoming over 300,000 Dong, right ?. So, he advised me to take a natural juice for 75,000 instead of water, which I did. This waiter served me all parts of the meal (Caprese salad and Cannelloni and lemon juice with great courtesy and small talk, then towards the end of the meal another waiter approached me and asked how was my meal, to which I replied : “Good”. The first waiter was just standing somewhere, why did they switch?A few minutes later I asked the bill from the second waiter who was moving close to me.He presented me a bill of 650,000 Dong. It took me some time to get out of my astonishment and then I asked why 650000 and not 230000. He told me that I chose items from a normal menu and not from a set lunch menu (a totally different paper which was not brought to my table by the first waiter). I told him that the first waiter presented me only one menu and that he understood very well from our conversation that I was here for the set menu because I have explicitly mentioned the price of the set menu and explicitly asked if the drink was included in the set, there in no way he could have thought otherwise (anyway, If you put a big publicity outside, it is expected that some clients are coming for this, no?, so why not present also the “other” menu). After insisting I was presented with a bill that was close to the set deal. They proposed to charge me only for the cannelloni, which they priced as 290,000 Dong. With an addition of some Taxes and Service (most restaurants in Vietnam already include these charges in the listed pricethey presented me a bill of 340,000 Dongs, which I paid.To sum up, it is a fraud. The first waiter pretended that what he brought to me was the “deal menu” and the second waiter played the innocent. They are probably succeeding with it in at least 50 % of the times because people are feeling uneasy to protest in this situation.Even if they would have presented me the correct menu, the price to pay with the drink and charges is not proportional to the deal price presented outside, a sort of fraud by itself, but a more acceptable one.And how was the quality of the food ?Average. They are using high quality ingredients like imported Mozzarella cheese for the Caprese salad but the Cannelloni taste was quite flat (still good ingredients). Each year I spend a few weeks in Italia so I know a little bit about Italian food and what to expect. I wonder if the owner of this restaurant is Italian. I could not see any Italian manager passing between the tables like I use to see in restaurants owned by Italians in Vietnam, but of course it is possible that he was just absent at the moment.
Great little Italian/brick oven style pizza. Hubby and I had happy hour drinks, calamari and the Namo pizza (nduja sausage and zucchini florets). Service was great, ambience was fancy and the staff seemed to have a lot of fun at work which made us have fun with the staff. This was a yummy and unexpected surprise.
Very good food and lunch set menu has good choices even for vegetarian. Good value for the price. The only thing I would have prefer is that my pasta is served but warmer. Otherwise a lovely place and Recommended.
Great pizza, great service!
The steak was the best! Do not order the tiramisu. Drinks were so so.
Excellent customer service. Some dishes are on point and prices are reasonable. Great place to dine for families.
Calzone and pasta very nice, tiramisu one of the best I ever eat. Good job guys, lovely dinner
Expensive, underwhelming experience, food is not that good comparing to the high price
Incredible food and drinks and exceptional service. Their martini rosso cocktail was just divine. Many thanks to Thái for waiting our table, giving us a free bottle of sparkling wine and putting up with my absolutely ridiculous questions. It made spending so much money all at once a bit easier haha. Namo is not affordable in my book by all means, but definitely worth the splurge.
Great location. Great food and kind staff
I really like Namo. Their pizza are really really good and always made with carefully selected ingredients. The place itself is quite nice and you can tell that a lot of thought has been put in the decorations and overall atmosphere. They also have a fine wine selection with some little gems. The only downside may be the price, but with such ingredients, location and tip top service, thats definitely worth it.
Beefsteak and lamb chop are good. Pizza is sadly half burnt and tasteless which is a surprise given that this is a pizza restaurant. Tiramisu dessert is creative visually but does not taste as good compared to average one. The waitress serving us can not pour the red wine bottle probably. Nice atmosphere though, but would not come back.
Nice design and atmosphere, exllence service, average food.
Service was quite nice and for the food, youll get what you pay for. Theirs portion is pretty large but the taste (for mewasnt quite there. I wasnt blown away by the food (we ordered a seafood pasta, a calzone and a burchata pizza for two). As I said, the service was great even our waitress seemed to be a trainee at the time but she did very well. The only down of the evening was the taste of the food but I think it was just my taste.
We stopped by for lunch after our guide recommended Namo... 2 course lunch was less than $10 - a lovely salad and a margarita pizza. The food was delicious and the service was great. The Vietnamese certainly know and love Italian food!
Yummy food, good service + cozy place ..
Staffs are welcoming. Food is fine but the price is kinda high
A great place to have your Italian pallets satisfied. Their pizzas are delicious. Everything is so fresh and flavourful. You can also order pizza with 2 flavours half and half so you could try other variants in cheaper value. We really enjoyed our lunch here.
Lovely place, great decor. Authentic Italian food. With their good price, this is a must-go place!
Really excellent, authentic thin crust Napolitan pizza. Ingredients imported from Italy! I had the margarita pizza (mozzarella, tomato, basilTHREE days in a row! Get the larger size because the smaller will leave you wanting more. If you want a taste of Italy while in southern Vietnam, this is the place!
Best place in town for Tiramisu and Authentic Italian food. Very helpful staff!
Really awesome pizza. Super tasty and quick and friendly service. Wifi is available too
Real Italian pizza instructor was in the house. His QC was tough. We sat by the oven and saw him remake our pizza and it was perfect, delicious and very authentic. Saigon is fortunate to have such a gem.
Reasonable service. Great choice of food and drinks. Very efficient. Lovely atmosphere. Could have been a bit more accommodating on finding us a table we ended up sitting at the pizza bar. Staff were very nice and we really enjoyed it. I would definitely go back to try some of their other dishes.
I went for the pizza and the margherita was delicious and impressive. Im giving them four stars for two reasons: the price is a bit outrageous. It is downtown and all, but you have to draw the line somewhere.Secondly, they have a tendency to "over serve" and hover around the table asking if everything is okay and/or would you like to order more. Would have preferred the experience more if they would give guests some space and let them enjoy the delicious food.
If you are looking for an alternative to 4P, this is a fantastic choice! Although its slightly overpriced the food will never disappoint you. Do choose to sit at the bar table where you can watch and smell all the lovely pizzas coming out from the oven :)
